A composite film for a quantum dot—organic light emitting diode (QD-OLED) display panel of an information handling system includes a polarizer film, a quarter wavelength retarder film, and a reflective polarizer film. The polarizer film reduces ambient light reflections within the QD-OLED display panel. The quarter wavelength retarder film is in physical communication with the polarizer film. The quarter wavelength retarder film combines with the polarizer film to reduce the ambient light reflections. The reduction of the ambient light reflections increases a contrast ratio for the QD-OLED display panel. The reflective polarizer film is in physical communication with the quarter wavelength retarder film. The reflective polarizer film increases a luminance of the QD-OLED display panel to a first value that is greater than a second value of the luminance created by the polarizer film and the quarter wavelength retarder film.

A display device has alignment features that compensate for variability in open cells sourced from different vendors. A backlight is arranged behind or beneath an open cell to illuminate picture elements. The open cell and the backlight rest or reside within a cover shield. Because the open cell may have supplier variability, the cover shield has receptacles such as holes or apertures that align with features protruding from a module fixture. The modular fixture thus allows the open cell and the backlight to be arranged, aligned, and/or assembled to the covert shield, despite the supplier variability in the open cell.

Modular fixture for display device

An information handling system peripheral display provides backlight to a liquid crystal display panel through a light guide plate with illumination from a light emitting diode package having plural evenly spaced light emitting diodes disposed in a spaced relationship along one side of the light guide plate. For insert molded coupling devices, a midframe structure integrates spacers at opposing ends of the bottom side of the light guide plate to maintain the spaced relationship without any additional intervening structures between the light emitting diode package and light guide plate along the bottom side between the opposing ends.
