A battery pack includes a pack housing including a plurality of accommodation spaces; a partition member coupled to the pack housing and partitioning a space of the pack housing into the plurality of accommodation spaces; a plurality of pack units respectively disposed in the plurality of accommodation spaces; a first pack cover in contact with the partition member and covering at least one of the plurality of accommodation spaces or the pack unit; and a second pack cover covering the first pack cover and the pack housing.

Battery pack

A battery pack includes a cell assembly unit including a plurality of battery cells and a bus bar configured to electrically connect the plurality of battery cells, a frame unit accommodating the cell assembly unit, and a bracket unit fixing the cell assembly unit to the frame unit. The bracket unit and the frame unit form a flow path through which a gas is discharged. A reverse flow prevention member is disposed between the bus bar and the bracket unit. The reverse flow prevention member includes a plurality of gas permeation holes, each of which extends from one end facing the bus bar and leads to another end facing the flow path.

Cell assembly unit and battery pack including the same

A battery pack includes a number of secondary battery cells, and a frame unit including a number of sealed compartments in which the number of secondary battery cells are dispersedly accommodated, and configured to, when flames or gas are generated in a secondary battery cell disposed in one of the compartments, discharge the flames or gas.

A battery module includes: a plurality of second battery cells, each including an electrode lead connected to an electrode assembly, a terrace portion of a cell body member in which the electrode assembly is accommodated, and a sealing portion connected to the terrace portion; a housing unit in which the plurality of secondary battery cells are accommodated; and a guard unit including a first area, facing at least a portion of the terrace portion, to delay swelling or bursting of the sealing portion of at least one of the plurality of secondary battery cells. The guard unit has a shape in which a first gap is smaller than a thickness of the cell body member to limit expansion of a thickness of the terrace portion, the first gap being a distance between internal surfaces of the first area.

Battery module

A battery module includes: a plurality of secondary battery cells, each including an electrode lead connected to an electrode assembly, a terrace portion forming a periphery of a cell body member in which the electrode assembly is accommodated, and a sealing portion formed to be connected to the terrace portion; a housing in which the plurality of secondary battery cells are accommodated; and a guard unit installed to face at least a portion of the terrace portion and at least a portion of the sealing portion to delay bursting of the sealing portion of at least one of the secondary battery cells. In the guard unit, a gap between internal surfaces facing the terrace portion is formed to be smaller than a thickness of the cell body member to limit expansion thickness of the terrace portion.

Provided is a secondary battery pack including a plurality of secondary battery modules including a plurality of secondary battery cells stacked in parallel to each other in a vertical direction, a cover, and a switch installed at an upper side of the one end in the horizontal direction of the cover, a housing, a Power Relay Assembly (PRA) including a relay electrically connected to the secondary battery cells and switches, for transmitting charging power supplied from the outside to the secondary battery cells when the relay is in a close state and changing the relay to an open state when the switch is pushed according to pressure applied to an upper side from a lower surface of the cover, and a Battery Management System (BMS) for controlling the Power Relay Assembly (PRA).

Disclosed herein is an overcharge protection apparatus with minimized power consumption. An overcharge protection apparatus with minimized power consumption according to an embodiment includes a switching unit for controlling supply of voltage detected in a battery cell depending on an ignition-on or off state of a vehicle, and an overcharge prevention circuit for, when the battery cell is overcharged based on the voltage of the battery cell output from the switching unit, turning off a main relay, thus interrupting supply of power to a battery module, so that the voltage of the battery cell is detected only in an ignition-on state of a vehicle and power consumption is minimized, thus preventing the lifespan of a battery from being shortened by reducing a voltage difference between cells.
