A method of making a plasma display panel, whereby an address electrode is formed on a front substrate, a green sheet is formed to cover the address electrode, a dielectric layer pattern is formed by exposing, developing, and firing the green sheet, a composition for a display electrode is filled in the dielectric layer pattern and then fired to form a patterned display electrode, and a dielectric layer is formed to cover the patterned display electrode, thereby fabricating a front substrate. The green sheet includes a first green sheet that is formed using a dielectric composition, and a second green sheet that is formed on the first green sheet and using a photosensitive dielectric composition.

Method of making a plasma display panel and green sheet for forming dielectric layers of the plasma display panel

A plasma display panel may include a first substrate, a second substrate opposite to the first substrate with a predetermined space therebetween, the space being partitioned into a plurality of discharge cells, a phosphor layer formed in the discharge cells, address electrodes extending in a first direction on the first substrate to correspond to the discharge cells, and a first electrode and a second electrode extending in a second direction crossing the first direction at the first substrate side, spaced apart from the address electrodes, formed opposite to each other, and projecting toward the second substrate with a discharge space formed therebetween, wherein the address electrodes include protrusions disposed adjacent to the second electrodes and protruding toward the inside of the discharge cells, and wherein at least one of the first electrode and the second electrode includes protrusions protruding toward an inside of a respective one of the discharge cells.

Plasma display panel

A plasma display panel that is capable of reducing power consumption and improving exhaust efficiency. The plasma display panel includes a first substrate, a second substrate facing the first substrate, a plurality of discharge cells partitioned between the first substrate and the second substrate, a plurality of phosphor layers arranged within the plurality of discharge cells, a plurality of address electrodes extending in a first direction on the second substrate and a plurality of first electrodes and a plurality of second electrodes extending in a second direction that crosses the first direction, arranged between the first substrate and the second substrate, arranged apart from the plurality of address electrodes, and protruding in a third direction away from the second substrate, wherein the plurality of first electrodes and the plurality of second electrodes face each other with a space therebetween, wherein each of the plurality of first electrodes and each of the plurality of second electrodes respectively include a plurality of expanded portions corresponding to respective ones of the plurality of discharge cells and extending in the third direction, and a plurality of connecting portions connecting ones of the plurality of expanded portions.

Plasma display panel and manufacturing method of the same

A plasma display and driving method thereof. A median electrode is formed between X and Y electrodes for receiving sustain pulse voltages, and a reset waveform and a scan pulse voltage are applied to the median electrode. A short gap discharge is performed between the X electrode and the median electrode during the initial interval of a sustain interval, and a long gap discharge is performed between the X and Y electrodes during the normal sustain interval to thus perform a stable discharge. The X and Y electrode drivers are realized through comparable circuits since the waveforms applied to the X and Y electrodes are substantially symmetric.

Plasma display and driving method thereof

A plasma display panel including a first substrate and a second substrate opposing one another with a predetermined gap therebetween, address electrodes formed along a first direction on the first substrate, and barrier ribs mounted in the gap between the first and second substrates and defining a plurality of discharge cells. First electrodes and second electrodes are formed on the second substrate along a second direction, which crosses the first direction. The address electrodes include expanded segments with an enlarged width in areas corresponding to the discharge cells, and indented segments that are indented at areas corresponding to gaps between the first electrodes and the second electrodes.

A plasma display panel has red R, green G, and blue B subpixels arranged in a triangular configuration. The plasma display panel includes a first substrate and a second substrate separated from each other by a predetermined distance. Barrier ribs form a discharge space between the first substrate and the second substrate so that subpixels forming a pixel are arranged in a triangular configuration. Address electrodes may be formed on the first substrate and display electrodes may be formed on a surface of the second substrate to cross the address electrodes. A phosphor layer may be formed in the discharge space. An aspect ratio of the pixel is a horizontal pitch of the pixel divided by a vertical pitch of the pixel, and the aspect ratio of the pixel is in a range of about 0.8 to about 1.0.

A plasma display panel (PDP) having improved light emission efficiency by minimizing blockage of emitted visible light rays includes: a first substrate and a second substrate arranged opposite to each other; a plurality of barrier ribs arranged between the first and second substrates to define two sides of closed discharge cells; first electrodes and second electrodes arranged to extend in a direction intersecting the barrier ribs to define two other sides of the closed discharge cells and alternately arranged between the discharge cells defined consecutively; phosphor layers each arranged in the discharge cells partitioned by the barrier ribs and the first and second electrodes; address electrodes arranged on the second substrate; and third electrodes arranged on the first substrate to extend in a direction intersecting the address electrodes.

For reducing EMI and simplifying driving circuits, a plasma display panel includes a first substrate and a second substrate disposed facing each other, a plurality of barrier ribs disposed between the first and second substrates and forming a plurality of discharge cells, a phosphor layer formed in each of the discharge cells, a plurality of address electrodes formed on the second substrate, and a plurality of display electrodes formed on the first substrate in a direction crossing the plurality of address electrodes. Terminals of the plurality of display electrodes are located at a same side of the plasma display panel between the first substrate and the second substrate.

An electron gun for a cathode ray tube includes a single cathode that emits thermions; first and second electrodes; a plurality of focus electrodes provided consecutively after the second electrode; an anode electrode mounted after a final focus electrode; and a support that supports the electrodes in an aligned configuration. The final focus electrode and the anode electrode are mounted opposing one another with a predetermined gap therebetween. If a lengthwise direction of phosphor layers forming a phosphor screen of the cathode ray tube is a Y axis direction, and a direction perpendicular to the Y axis direction is an X axis direction, an electron beam aperture formed in a portion of the final focus electrode opposing the anode electrode, and an electron beam aperture formed in the anode electrode have diameters in the X axis direction that are larger than corresponding diameters of electron beam apertures formed in the remaining electrodes.

Electron gun for cathode ray tube

A solid dielectric material is installed between the second focus electrode and third focus electrode in a one-pin dynamic electron gun assembly in order to increase capacitance between the two electrodes. The increased capacitance between the two electrodes reduces the voltage Vg between the two electrodes and increases the effective voltage Vd (eff) between the third focus electrode and the fourth focus electrode since Vd&equals;Vg&plus;Vd (eff).
