A power management driver includes a boost converter, a plurality of regulators, a sequence controller, and an operation controller. The boost converter converts an input voltage to a source drive voltage for drive a source driver based on a drive enable signal. The regulators regulate the source drive voltage to generate a plurality of drive voltages. The regulators corresponding to a respective number of predetermined devices. The sequence controller controls the timing for providing the source drive voltage to the source driver. The operation controller adjusts active periods of first and second control signals to control the regulators and the sequence controller.

A power supply device includes a voltage range selector, a voltage level controller, and a power supply voltage generator. The voltage range selector generates a range selection signal to select a voltage control range. The voltage level controller generates a voltage level control signal based on a driving condition of a display panel. The control module controls a switching operation of the switching module by generating the PWM signal. An organic light emitting diode display including a short detecting circuit and a method of driving the same are disclosed. The organic light emitting diode display includes a pixel unit including pixels coupled to scan lines and data lines, a DC-DC converter for outputting a first power source and a second power source when a start signal is supplied, a first power source line and a second power source line for supplying the first power source and the second power source output from the DC-DC converter to the pixel unit, and a short detecting circuit for determining whether the first power source line and the second power source line are shorted before the DC-DC converter is driven and for supplying the start signal to the DC-DC converter when the first power source line and the second power source line are not shorted.

An organic light emitting display is provided. The organic light emitting display includes a display unit coupled to scan lines and data lines and including pixels configured to receive first and second power sources, and a DC-DC converter for generating the first and second power sources. The DC-DC converter includes first and second power source generating units for generating the first and second power sources from an input power source and for outputting the first and second power sources to first and second output ends, a controller for controlling driving of the first and second power source generating units, and first and second short sensing units for outputting first and second short sensing signals to the controller when voltages of the first and/or second output ends are greater than or equal to corresponding first and second reference voltages.

A liquid crystal display device has brightness uniformity at its front and lateral sides. The liquid crystal display device includes a reflection sheet reflecting light; an optical plate including a substrate for guiding light, a height-varying portion formed on one surface of the substrate, not facing the reflection sheet, and a prism pattern formed on the height-varying portion; and a plurality of light sources arranged on one lateral surface of the optical plate in a first direction so as to correspond to a position of the height-varying portion having a height not greater than an average height from the one surface of the substrate to the height-varying portion. The prism pattern extends in a second direction substantially perpendicular to the first direction. The average height is in a range of about 0.1% to about 10% of the thickness of the substrate.

A backlight assembly includes a light generating unit, a receiving member, an optical member, and a frame member. The receiving member includes a receiving part receiving the light generating unit, a supporting part extending from the receiving part, and a protrusion portion protruded from the supporting part. The optical member is guided to a predetermined position on the supporting part by the protrusion portion, and diffuses the light provided from the light generating unit. The frame member includes a fixing part coupled with the supporting part and protruded from a surface of the frame member facing the supporting part. The fixing part prevents the optical member from moving in a direction substantially parallel to an upper surface of the supporting part.

A light guiding plate to enhance uniformity of brightness and a backlight assembly and a display device having the same in one or more embodiments. In one embodiment, the light guiding plate includes a plurality of the linear shaped prisms on a back surface thereof, and the linear shaped prisms are omitted partially at the incident portion of the light guiding plate such that a non-prism area, connection area, and prism area are formed in stated order from the incident portion end on the back surface of the light guiding plate. Therefore, the display device having the light guiding plate is adapted to increase a uniformity of brightness of the edge type backlight, and the display quality can be improved.
