A method of controlling a hybrid electric vehicle is provided. The method includes determining whether a condition for turning off an engine is satisfied and determining engine clutch disengaging time and residual purge gas consuming time from engine driving status information when the condition is satisfied. Engine clutch-engaged charging control time is determined from the engine clutch disengaging time and the residual purge gas consuming time. The method includes closing a purge control solenoid valve and starting to perform engine clutch-engaged charging control. The engine clutch-engaged charging control is maintained for the determined engine clutch-engaged charging control time and then engine clutch disengaging control is performed for the determined engine clutch disengaging time. The engine is stopped after the engine clutch disengaging control is performed.

Method and system of controlling hybrid electric vehicle for removing residual purge gas

An active fuel vapor purge system includes: a turbocharger having a turbine and a compressor; a canister collecting fuel vapor; a purge pump pumping the collected fuel vapor; a main purge line connecting the canister and the purge pump; a first purge line branched from the main purge line and joined to an intake manifold at downstream of the compressor; a second purge line branched from the main purge line and jointed to an intake line at upstream of the compressor; purge control solenoid valves respectively disposed in the first purge line and the second purge line; a hydrocarbon sensor measuring an amount of hydrocarbon; a pressure sensor measuring an upstream pressure and a downstream pressure of the purge pump; and a controller controlling operation of the purge pump based on the amount of hydrocarbon and pressures at a front end and at a rear end of the purge pump.

Active fuel vapor purging system and method using the same

A Brushless Direct Current (BLDC) motor starting method and device are provided. With the method and/or device, startup noise and vibration and startup failure rate can be reduced using a constant low-speed startup scheme when the BLDC motor is in startup mode. Additionally, Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) duty is also maintained at low level when the BLDC motor starts up, thereby preventing excessive current from occurring due to desynchronization of the motor at startup, so that it is possible to optimize specifications of an inverter in the BLDC motor. The BLDC motor starts up with a synchronous speed and a PWM duty of a rotor of the BLDC motor being kept constant, and the BLDC motor switches to sensorless mode if a position of the rotor is detected a predetermined number of times or more during a specific time period.
