A DC voltage switch includes a semiconductor-based electronically controllable switching device, a sensor provided upstream of the switching device for determining the DC voltage bus-side voltage level, a sensor provided downstream of the switching device for determining the DC voltage branch-side voltage level, a current sensor for determining current level and direction, a control device designed such that the direction and level of the current are determined, the flow of current is interrupted by the switching device when a first threshold value of the current level is exceeded, and when the first threshold value of the current level is exceeded in the reverse direction: the DC voltage bus-side voltage level is compared with the DC voltage branch-side voltage level, and the switching device is switched on upon a voltage difference being less than a voltage difference value.

An energy supply network has a bus line with a line impedance for energy distribution. The energy supply network also includes a number of power-electronic converters having a respective commutation capacitor wherein the storage capacity thereof is selected in such a way that a controlling of the associated power-electronic converter is guaranteed during operation of the energy supply network and an excess of voltage is managed during a commutation. At least one energy accumulator is provided, which can be connected selectively to the bus line by controlling a switch device via a computer unit, wherein the storage capacity of the energy accumulator is substantially greater than the storage capacity of a respective commutation capacitor.

Energy supply network

An energy supply device contains: (a) a supply mechanism for supplying electrical power for a power supply system or for an electrical consumer connected to the power supply system; (b) a control unit for controlling an operation of the supply mechanism in first and second operating modes; (c) an interface configured to receive external control signals and to forward the external control signals that indicate how the supply mechanism works in the first operating mode; and (d) a communication monitoring unit that is coupled to the interface and the control unit and monitors whether external control signals are received by the interface, and, if the interface has not received any external control signals or any valid external control signals over a pre-determined amount of time, to transmit an operating mode control signal to the control unit, which causes it to operate the supply mechanism in the second operating mode.
