In a hydraulic camshaft adjuster for a camshaft of an internal combustion engine, with an inner body connected for rotation with the camshaft and having at least one vane extending into a chamber formed in an outer body mounted rotatably relative to the camshaft and connected for rotation with a crankshaft for driving the camshaft and with a hydraulic control mechanism for adjusting the relative angular position between the inner and the outer bodies and including a locking structure for selectively locking and releasing the inner body with respect to the outer body, at least one bolt is slidably supported in an opening in the inner body so as to be movable into a guide slot in the outer body by the force of an axially acting spring element, said bolt when released from the guide slot against the axially acting spring force by the pressure force of a hydraulic operating fluid being retainable laterally displaced out of alignment with the guide slot by centrifugal forces against the force of a radially acting spring.

In a hydraulic camshaft adjuster for an internal combustion engine including a hydraulic operating unit for adjusting the angular position of the camshaft relative to a camshaft drive by way of a hydraulic control valve with a valve housing in which a control piston is disposed for controlling the supply of hydraulic fluid to, and its removal from, the hydraulic operating unit and to which hydraulic fluid is supplied from the camshaft by way of a pressure channel which is formed into the valve housing so as to extend along the outer surface thereof and a sleeve tightly surrounds at least the part of the valve housing which includes the channel for tightly covering the channel.

In a camshaft adjustment control device for an internal combustion engine arranged in the drive train for a camshaft, with an inner body connected to the camshaft and an outer body rotatable relative to the inner body, and a control space between the inner and the outer bodies to which hydraulic fluid can be supplied for adjusting the relative angular positions of the inner body connected to the camshaft and the outer body driven by the crankshaft, the inner body is mounted to the camshaft by a bolt having a central bore in which a control spool valve is disposed controlling the flow of fluid to and from the control space and a check valve is arranged in the supply lines of the hydraulic fluid to the control spool valve which check valve opens when a certain pressure is applied thereto.

Camshaft adjustment control device

In a camshaft adjuster for an internal combustion engine comprising a blade wheel, which is rotationally connected to a camshaft and which is mounted in a driving part so as to be able to rotate in a limited manner, starting from an inner base circle and extending to an outer peripheral circle, the blade wheel, with its blades, engages inside intermediate spaces formed by radial projections of the driving part. A pressure chamber is formed in the peripheral direction on both sides of a blade and can be supplied with pressure oil via a control valve so that the blade wheel is displaced relative to the driving part about an angle according to the pressure ratios existing inside the pressure chambers. In addition, a locking bolt, which can be hydraulically unlocked and which is subjected to the action of a pressure spring in a locking direction, may lock the blade wheel to the driving part. The locked position is situated between two end positions of the blade wheel. After a startup phase, the bolt is firmly held disengaged by a pressurized system fluid to safely prevent locking of the bolt.
