An optical assembly is used to generate a real-time image and a real-time assignment of environmental objects. The optical assembly has a plurality of camera groups which each have cameras interconnected via a camera signal connection, the entrance pupil centers of which cameras define a camera arrangement plane in which the cameras are arranged. The camera groups are in turn interconnected via a group signal connection. Adjacent image capture directions of the cameras of one of the camera groups assume an individual camera angle with respect to one another which is in the range between 5° and 25°. A direction mean value of the image capture directions of the cameras of one of the camera groups assumes a group-camera angle with respect to a direction angle value of the image capture directions of the cameras of an adjacent camera group, which is in the range between 30° and 100°. This results in an optical assembly with improved reliability of a real-time detection of environmental objects and improved real-time assignment, and which is well adapted to the practice, in particular of image capture to allow autonomous driving.

For three-dimensional image capture with the aid of a stereo camera having two cameras, an image of a three-dimensional scene is first captured simultaneously with the two cameras. Characteristic signatures of scene objects within each captured image are determined and assigned to each other in pairs. Characteristic position deviations of the assigned signature pairs from each other are determined. The position deviations are filtered in order to select assigned signature pairs. Based on the selected signature pairs, a triangulation calculation is performed to determine depth data for the respective scene objects. A 3D data map of the captured scene objects within the captured image of the three-dimensional scene is then created. This results in a method for capturing three-dimensional images, which is well adapted for practical use, in particular, for capturing images to safeguard autonomous driving.

A remote control device is used to control a mechanism with the aid of a movement pattern and/or a distance pattern of at least one moved object. The remote control device has a camera module to receive a stereo image and to detect the moved object. An image evaluation module has a movement evaluation sub-module and a distance evaluation sub-module. A control and communication module of the remote control device, depending on the movement or distance values determined, generates at least one mechanism control signal and sends it to the mechanism to be controlled. An interface module has a data memory, a comparator sub-module and a communication sub-module. The latter, with adequate agreement between the respective actual parameter and one of the desired movement parameters, sends the control signal assigned in the table to the module of the remote control device or to the mechanism.

A device is described for a motor vehicle, having at least one first camera and at least one second camera, the first camera and the second camera acting as a stereo camera, the first camera and the second camera being different with respect to at least one camera property, in particular the light sensitivity of the first camera and the light sensitivity of the second camera being different. Furthermore the device is configured in such a way that the driver assistance function of night vision support and/or traffic sign recognition and/or object recognition and/or road boundary recognition and/or lane recognition and/or other functions are ensured.

Stereo camera for a motor vehicle

A camera is described having an image capturing device, an evaluation and control unit and a storage unit, the evaluation and control unit analyzes an image sequence having at least two successively captured images recorded by the image capturing device to segment and stabilize at least one object to be recorded during the image recording. A method for detecting an optical structure from image sequences of an image recording system. An optical flow field is derived from the image sequences of the image recording system. The vectors of the optical flow field are broken down into components by projection onto a coordinate system of the image recorded by the image recording system. At least one component of the flow vectors is analyzed for a change of direction. The image elements containing a change of direction of a vector component are connected to form a curve.

Method for detecting an optical structure

A method and a device for generating images in a motor vehicle are provided. An infrared-sensitive camera generates images of the surroundings of the motor vehicle. An emission source emitting in the near infrared spectral region is used for the pulsed illumination of sub-ranges of the image recording region of the camera. The camera generates the images by recording partial image regions. To record the partial image regions, a synchronization in time is carried out with the pulsed illumination of the sub-range including at least the partial image region. In the preferred exemplary embodiment, the recording of partial image regions of an infrared-sensitive CMOS camera is synchronized in time with a laser diode array emitting in the near infrared spectral region.
