The present disclosure describes a heat exchanger of a motor vehicle that is supplied with a cooling air mass flow that changes depending on a travelling speed of the motor vehicle. The heat exchanger includes a heat exchanger block with a plurality of flat tubes that are each received on a longitudinal end side in an associated passage opening of a tube sheet and provide a coolant path. A tank is connected to the tube sheet and defines a coolant header. An additional element is arranged on an outer edge or on an outer marginal region of the tube sheet. The additional element is structured and arranged to provide an at least partial covering of the tube sheet relative to an inflow side, e.g., relative to the cooling air mass flow.

Heat exchanger

A heat exchanger may include a heat exchanger block including a plurality of flat tubes held at a longitudinal end side in a respective rim hole of an associated tube plate. The respective rim hole may have at least two mutually opposite and substantially straight long sides and at least two mutually opposite narrow sides. A brazed connection may be disposed between at least one of the at least two long sides of at least one of the respective rim holes and a corresponding one of the flat tubes arranged therein, and the brazed connection may have an undulating brazing boundary. At least one of the plurality of flat tubes may include at least one partition. The undulating brazing boundary may have a high point that defines an increased thickness in relation to a plane running through two opposite groove bases disposed in the tube plate.

A heat exchanger may include a plate, a seal and a cover. The plate may have at least two receiving grooves having a respective groove base, an intermediate region disposed in a plane between a plurality of rim holes, and a ramp extending between the intermediate region and the respective groove base of the at least two receiving grooves. The seal extends in the at least two receiving grooves. The ramp may be rounded at a transition to the receiving grooves with a first radius and at a transition to the intermediate region with a second radius, and the ramp may be inclined between 20&#xb0;&#x3c;&#x3b1;&#x3c;65&#xb0; relative to the intermediate region or has an S-shaped progression. An inflection point of the plate may be arranged in a region from 10% to 80% of a height difference between the intermediate region and the respective groove base.

Exhaust gas heat exchanger, in particular an exhaust gas cooler for exhaust gas recirculation in a motor vehicle

An exhaust gas system for an internal combustion engine includes an intake system and an exhaust outlet interconnected by an exhaust gas recirculation line having an exhaust treatment unit and a heat exchanger. The heat exchanger has a first back pressure and the exhaust treatment unit has a second back pressure, smaller than the first back pressure. The exhaust treatment unit is disposed at such a first distance from the heat exchanger in flow direction that, during operation, a gas flow entering the exhaust treatment unit is homogenized. The exhaust gas system permits an advantageous configuration of a heat exchanger and an exhaust treatment unit, such as for example a honeycomb body in the exhaust gas recirculation line, in which both the heat exchanger and the exhaust treatment unit can have a smaller structure than in conventional systems.
