The present specification is directed a method manufacturing a patient interface for treatment of sleep disordered breathing using air pressure by delivery of air to a patient's airway. The method includes locating a shell, a first sub section of a seal forming structure, and a first section of the seal forming structure in a tool. The first sub section includes a groove. The first section is constructed from a thermoformable material. The method further includes introducing a moulding material to the tool and overmolding the shell, the first sub section, and the first section. The moulded material forms a second sub section of the seal forming structure that connects the first sub section to the shell and fully encloses the first section within the groove.

Patient interface, seal forming structure and method of manufacturing of the same

A patient interface includes a seal forming portion, a pad, and a cushion. The seal forming portion may have a base surface and a plurality of fibers fixed to and extending away from the base surface for contacting a patient's skin. The cushion may have at least along a portion of the circumference a first structure having an elongate section joined with at least one end section oriented substantially perpendicular or at an angle to the elongate section. A first end A of the elongate section may be connected or connectable to a frame member. The end section may be provided at an opposing second end B of the elongate section. The pad may have a resilient foam material layer with the seal forming portion. The pad may be adapted to be connected to the cushion.

Seal forming portion, pad and cushion for a patient interface and method of manufacturing

The present technology relates to a pad for forming a seal forming structure against a user's skin for use with a patient interface, the pad comprising, a base layer, a fibre layer comprising a plurality of fibers for contacting a patient's skin, and a connection layer for connecting the fibers to the base material, wherein the base layer and/or the fibre layer is/are adapted to act as a reservoir for substances. Furthermore, it relates to a set of pads, a kit and a patient interface.

Patient interface component

The present technology relates to a tub for a humidifier comprising a container made of a first material, a heating element, and a lining made of a second, preferably biocompatible, material different from the first material, wherein the container comprises a base and a side wall defining a reservoir for a supply of liquid to be evaporated, the heating element is provided on the base of the container, and the lining covers the heating element and a substantial portion of the inner surface of the side wall of the container.

Heating apparatus

A water reservoir for an apparatus for humidifying a flow of breathable gas includes a reservoir base including a cavity structured to hold a volume of liquid and a conductive portion provided to the base. The conductive portion is adapted to thermally engage with a heater plate to allow thermal transfer of heat from the heater plate to the volume of liquid. The conductive portion includes a thin film comprising a non-metallic material, and the thin film includes a wall thickness less than about 1 mm.

The present invention relates to a tub configured to receive a volume of liquid for a humidifier, comprising at least one plastic component and at least one metal component, which together form a space for receiving said volume of liquid, wherein the at least one metal component and the at least one plastic component are attached to each other by means of a silicone seal. Furthermore, the invention relates to method for manufacturing a tub for a humidifier.

The present specification is directed to a seal forming structure for a patient interface for delivery of air to a patient's airway, wherein the seal forming structure comprises a first section of a thermoformable material and a second section of another material. The technology provides for a cushion assembly or a tool for forming the cushion assembly for a patient interface delivery of a supply of pressurised air or breathable gas to an entrance of a patient's airways. The cushion assembly has an inferior surface and a mask connection portion, and includes a pad arranged on the inferior surface for sealingly contacting a wearer's face in use.

A kit including a device which provides breathable gas to a patient and a specific facing, the device including a unit which provides a flow of breathable gas, a processor which drives the unit, and a receiving region which receives the specific facing. The unit and the processor provide the breathable gas in at least two different modes of operation, and a specific mode of operation can be selected out of the at least two modes by attaching the specific facing onto the receiving region.

Device for providing breathable gas

The present invention provides a method for producing a filled hollow structure, preferably a cushion for a breathing mask. According to said method, a hollow structure of a first material having a cavity is produced, wherein the hollow structure has an inlet to and an outlet from the cavity. The hollow structure is positioned on a tool for holding the hollow structure. Subsequently a second material is inserted through the inlet into the cavity, while gas present in the cavity can escape through the outlet. Finally, the inlet and/or the outlet is sealed. During the step of inserting the second material through the inlet into the cavity the outlet resists flow of said second material.
