A multi-phase busbar for conducting electric energy includes: a base layer of an insulating material; a first conducting layer of a sheet metal; a first insulating layer of an insulating material arranged on the first conducting layer; a second conducting layer of a sheet metal arranged on the insulating layer; and a second layer of an electrically insulating material which is arranged on the second conducting layer. The first and/or second insulating layers include spacers, each spacer including a layer of a rigid insulating material. At least one of the spacers is glued to an electrically insulating coating of the first and/or second conducting layer, and/or at least one of the spacers is glued to an electrically conductive surface of an uncoated first and/or second conducting layer by an adhesive.

A method for producing an electrical power device having an insulator. The method includes, by means of additive manufacturing, applying a polymeric insulating material forming part of the device. The method also includes, in a subsequent consolidation step, subjecting the insulator to elevated temperature and pressure during a predetermined time period to consolidate the insulator.

A method for forming an article of manufacture using additive manufacturing, includes: a processor executing program instructions to: (a) rotate an object continuously about a horizontal axis using a first rotational stage, wherein the object is partially submerged in a bath of energy curable liquid formulation during the rotation; (b) control a rate of rotation of the object to achieve a desired radial thickness of a sub layer of uncured liquid formulation at a desired rotational location on the object; (c) direct an energy source to provide an energy dose onto the object at a desired rotational location, wherein the energy dose is configured to cure and solidify the sub layer; and repeat (a), (b) and (c) until a desired radial thickness of a cured liquid formulation layer is a achieved.

A reinforced cable tie generally includes an elongate strap, a head attached to a first end of the strap and a continuous fiber reinforcement disposed in and extending substantially continuously along a path defining at least one of the strap and the head. The head has one or more apertures formed therein and a locking device disposed in the aperture of the head. The locking device is configured to permit a second end of the strap opposite the head to be inserted through the head aperture in a first direction and is further configured to prevent movement of the second end of the strap from the head aperture in a second direction opposite the first direction.

A surge arrester and a method for manufacturing the surge arrester are disclosed. The surge arrester includes a preassembled active part extending in a longitudinal direction, and a separately produced flexible housing defining a bore in the longitudinal direction and having an opening at an end surface of the flexible housing. The flexible housing is arranged surrounding the active part via the bore and in contact with the active part. The contact causes a deformation of the flexible housing in a circumferential direction, and the deformation generates a pressure applied on the active part along a radial direction.

Surge arrester and associated manufacturing method

A multi-phase busbar can include a first conducting layer, a first conducting pin, a first insulating layer, and a second conducting layer. The first conducting layer can include a sheet metal coated with an electrically insulating material. The first conducting pin can be mounted to the first conducting layer. The first conducting pin can extend in a direction perpendicular to the first conducting layer. The first insulating layer of a rigid insulating material can be arranged on the first conducting layer. The first insulating layer can define an opening through which the first conducting pin projects. The second conducting layer can include a sheet metal coated with an electrically insulating material, the second conducting layer comprising a first pinhole through which the first conducting pin projects and a second conducting pin which extends in a direction parallel to the first conducting pin.

Multi-phase busbar for energy conduction

Mold-free resin-insulated coil windings are obtained by applying continuous fibers embedded in a quasi-solid-state epoxy-resin matrix, e.g. in the form of a tape, to the coil windings. The tape is locally heated up to the melting point of its polymer matrix, and is subsequently pressed against the winding body. The heated and fused resin of the tape, which is pressed onto the coil, flows under pressure into the voids and gaps between the coil windings and fills them up, thereby hermetically insulating the coil windings. After leaving the heating and pressing apparatus the fused epoxy resin becomes solid again. The resulting curing process is thus considerably simplified and shortened, compared to the state of the art.

An exemplary plug-in high-voltage bushing connects an electrical conductor to a metal-encapsulated component, which is filled with insulating agent, of a high-voltage installation. The bushing is rotationally symmetrical with respect to an axis and has a centrally routed electrical conductor, a field control device and an insulator surrounds the electrical conductor. The bushing also includes a tapering section that dielectrically strengthens a joint after insertion of the bushing into a plug part, which forms a seal for the insulating agent. The joint is arranged between an insulating sleeve of the plug part and the tapering section of the insulator. The bushing has capacitor plates, which are electrically isolated from one another by an insulating film, are integrated into the insulator, and pass through the mounting flange into the tapering section of the insulator.

The subject of the invention is an insulating structure with screens shaping the electric field, applicable in high-voltage bushings, high-voltage cables, cable accessories and in measuring instruments, especially instrument transformers. The structure according to the invention comprising layers of electrically insulating material between which there are inserted conducting sheets which are screens shaping the electric field in high-voltage electric power equipment is characterized in that the conducting sheets are made of an insulating substrate layer with a porous structure, impregnatable and compressible along the direction parallel to the sheet plane, and at least one surface of the substrate layer has a strongly developed surface and is coated with a metal layer.

A high-voltage bushing has a conductor and a core surrounding the conductor, wherein the core comprises a sheet-like spacer, which spacer is impregnated with an electrically insulating matrix material. The spacer is wound in spiral form around an axis, the axis being defined through the shape of the conductor. Thus, a multitude of neighboring layers is formed. The core further comprises equalization elements in appropriate radial distances to the axis. The equalization elements comprise electrically conductive layers, which layers have openings, through which openings the matrix material can penetrate, and in that the equalization elements are applied to the core separately from the spacer. The electrically conductive layers can be net-shaped, grid-shaped, meshed or perforated. The openings are fillable with the matrix material, e.g., a particle-filled resin can be used.

High-voltage bushing

An exemplary high-voltage outdoor bushing is disclosed which includes a conductor extended along an axis, a condenser core and an electrically insulating polymeric weather protection housing molded on the condenser core. The condenser core can contain an electrically insulating tape which is wound in spiral form around the conductor. Capacitance grading insertions can be arranged between successive windings of the tape. A cured polymeric insulating matrix embeds the wound tape and the capacitive grading insertions. A moisture diffusion barrier can be incorporated inside the condenser core prior to molding the weather protection housing.

An electrical insulation system and method are disclosed which are based on poly(butylene terephthalate), wherein the poly(butylene terephthalate) contains a polymerized cyclic low molecular weight oligomeric poly(butylene terephthalate) resin. At least one filler material or a mixture of filler materials can be included. At least one hydrophobic compound or a mixture of hydrophobic compounds can also be included.

Electrical insulation system based on poly(butylene terephthalate)

A bushing is disclosed with a duct for accommodating a conductor which is surrounded by an electrical field grading insulation. The bushing includes a core with a shell encapsulating the grading insulation and a flange surrounding the shell and carrying through holes distributed over its circumference for allowing the bushing to be attached to a wall. The shell and the flange can be in one piece and include an insulating matrix material. The through holes can be surrounded by metal inserts each forming an annular surface flush with a surface of the flange. A test tap can include a contact pin which is electrically conductively connected to an outermost layer of the grading insulation and surrounded by a contact ring connected to every second metal insert by connection wires for grounding the contact pin via the contact ring when the test tap is not in use and covered. The core can be produced by filling a mold with the liquid matrix material after components of the grading insulation and other parts have been fixed in the liquid matrix material.

Bushing and a method for producing the same

An exemplary high-voltage bushing has a conductor and a core surrounding the conductor, wherein the core includes a sheet-like spacer, which spacer is impregnated with an electrically insulating matrix material. The spacer can have a multitude of holes that are fillable with the matrix material. The spacer can be net-shaped or meshed. It can be a net of fibers. The bushing can be a fine-graded bushing with equalizing plates within the core. As a matrix material, a particle-filled resin can be used.
