A catheter guiding device includes a bolt including a shaft configured to be inserted within a hole drilled in a bone and a passageway extending longitudinally therethrough along a bolt axis and a guide member received within the passageway of the bolt and extending longitudinally along a guide axis. The guide member includes a guide channel extending therethrough along the guide axis, wherein, in a first configuration, the guide member is arrangeable to a desired position relative to the bolt to align the guide axis with a target area and, in a second configuration, the guide member is fixed in the desired position relative to the bolt such that the guide axis is at a desired angle relative to the bolt axis within a permitted range of angulations.

A method of bone fixation comprises the steps of implanting at least one first fixation element into a respective first anatomical body such that a portion of the first fixation element extends out from an exterior surface of the first anatomical body, and implanting at least one second fixation element into a respective second anatomical body that is adjacent the first anatomical body, such that a portion of the second fixation element extends out from an exterior surface of the second anatomical body. A hardenable material is applied to the portion of each of the fixation elements that extends out from the exterior surface of the respective anatomical body when the hardenable material is in an unhardened state. The hardenable material is hardened such that the hardenable material forms a hardened construct together with the bone fixation elements that bridges the anatomical bodies.

Method of fixating two or more anatomical bodies

A method for reconstruction of a resectioned portion of a bone includes connecting a first link to a second link through a flexible connection to form an elongated linkage that extends along a substantially longitudinal direction, providing a flexible connector configured to work in tandem with the flexible connection to adjust the first and second links relative to each other to adapt to a shape of the bone in at least one of a directional orientation about an axis that extends in the vertical direction and an angular orientation about an axis that extends in the longitudinal direction, and providing a locking member configured for insertion through the aperture, wherein the locking member is configured to apply a biasing force to the connector and inhibit adjustment of the at least one of the directional orientation and the angular orientation of the first link relative to the second link.

Reconstruction device

In one embodiment, a bone fixation plate has first and second ends spaced apart along a first direction so as to define a length, and third and fourth ends spaced apart along a second direction so as to define a height that is less than the length. The plate has an inner and outer surface spaced apart along a third direction so as to define a thickness that is less than both the height and length. Openings extend from the inner surface to the outer surface along the third direction and are spaced apart along the first direction. Further, the plate has tangs that are offset from the openings with respect to the second direction, and extend out with respect to the outer surface along the third direction. The tangs are spaced apart from one another along the first direction, and are configured to receive a securement device.

Flexible maxillo-mandibular fixation device

A system for achieving maxillo-mandibular fixation includes a bone fixation device including a bone fixation body formed from a plurality of links. The links define corresponding crests and valleys so as to impart flexibility into the bone fixation body. Thus, the bone fixation body can be aligned with the dental arch of the mandible and maxilla as necessary, and subsequently fastened to the underlying bone. Each bone fixation device includes at least one securement location on the fixation body that can attach to a securement device, such that the securement device fixes or stabilizes the mandible and the maxilla with respect to each other.

A bone reconstruction device () is provided that includes an elongated linkage () having a plurality of links (). The reconstruction device further includes an adjustment assembly () that provides for adjustment of the directional and/or angular orientation of the links. The reconstruction device further includes a locking assembly () that is movable between a disengaged configuration and an engaged configuration. In the disengaged configuration, the adjustment assembly can be actuated to adjust the orientation of the links. In the engaged confirmation, the locking assembly inhibits adjustment of the orientation of the links.

A bone distractor, preferably an alveolar ridge distractor, having first and second bone plates sized and configured to engage opposing bone segments and an interconnecting mechanism operatively associated with the first and second bone plates such that rotation of an activation screw causes the second bone plate to move with respect to the first bone segment. The distractor may also include a housing having a first housing member operatively associated with the first bone plate and a second housing member operatively associated with the second bone plate, the second housing member being pivotally coupled to the first housing member such that the orientation of the second bone plate may be varied with respect to the first bone plate. Moreover, the second housing member may include a releasable closure cap so that the second bone plate may be easily removed and/or replaced, the second bone plate being provided in varying shapes and sizes.
