Illustrated and described is a friction stir welding device for mounting on a handling device. The object that the forces and moments which have to be absorbed by the handling device during the welding operation in the course of the movement of the friction stir welding tool along the weld seam are independent of the welding operation is achieved by a friction stir welding device with a tool drive, with a mounting element for connection to the handling device, with a friction stir welding tool, which is driven by the tool drive in a rotating manner about an axis of rotation, with a counterbearing roller and with a counterbearing drive, the counterbearing drive driving the counterbearing roller in a rotating manner about a counterbearing axis and the circumferential surface of the counterbearing roller being arranged opposite the friction stir welding tool.

An apparatus is proposed for connection of workpieces using the friction stir welding method, with a shaft (') which can be driven such that it rotates and at whose end remote from the drive end of the shaft a pin-like projection () is arranged, at whose end a first stop, which is formed by a first shoulder (), is arranged, with the first shoulder having a diameter which is larger than the diameter of the pin-like projection (), and with a second stop (&#x2032;), which is formed from a second shoulder and is arranged such that the workpieces () to be connected can be enclosed between the stops (&#x2032;), in that at least one of the stops can be moved translationally in order to enclose the workpieces () with a predetermined force in the direction of the other stop. The apparatus () is in this case designed such that the second shoulder () or the second stop is designed such that it can be rotated, and the first and the second shoulder () or the first and the second stop are designed such that they can be rotated in the opposite sense.

Apparatus for connection of workpieces using the friction stir welding method

The invention relates to an endoscope with a hermetic housing wall ( ) and containing an optic element ( ) which is adjusted by a drive element ( ) powered in turn by a magnet ( ) configured outside the wall ( ). The optic elements ( ) can be held in specific adjustment positions by a detent device ( ) in such manner that the force of the magnet ( ) shall move it from one adjustment position into another. The magnet ( ) is mechanically separate from the endoscope.

Endoscope with a movable component

An endoscopic optics fitted with lens elements and securing device to secure the element positions against shifting in case of being impacted. The securing device is a circumferentially expansible tube that jointly encloses, at least at one abutment surface, the adjoining ends of two lens elements while being of a lesser inside diameter than the outside diameter of the lens elements and being permanently prestressed against them.

A medical endoscope with sealed housing and receiving an electrically powered and/or controlled system, further comprising an installed light guide sealed against the ambience and fitted with electric/light (E/L) transducers at one end, is characterized in that a light/electricity (L/E) transducer is mounted at the other end of the light guide, one of the light guide ends being mounted inside the housing and the associated transducer being electrically connected to the electrical system.

Endoscope fitted with an electric system and a light guide

An illumination system for endoscopes having a light source of which the brightness is controlled by a control unit. A hook-up cable containing a bundle of optic fibers is provided to transmit the light from the light source to a light guide situated in the endoscope and extending to a distal end of the endoscope. At least one fiber of the bundle of fibers is optically coupled at one end near the light source with a light sensor. The light sensor cooperates with the control unit to control the brightness of the light source.

Brightness-controlled endoscope illumination system

An endoscopic telescope has a system tube in which spacer tubes are alternatingly stacked with rod lenses each having an external diameter smaller than the inside diameter of the system tube and which have convex end faces supported against the axial ends of the spacer tubes. An end of at least one of the spacer tubes protrudes axially at an angle and at a rotational position so that it abuts the adjacent convex surface of a rod lens, thereby tilting the rod lens relative to the system tube axis. The spacer tubes and the rod lenses are mounted spring loaded between end holding devices in the system tube.

An endoscope optics has a rigid and substantially tubular housing containing several optical components, the housing being sealed against entry into the housing of steam or water vapor from the ambient housing atmosphere. At least one of the optical components is displaceable. The housing has at least one deformable wall segment such as a membrane or bellows which, when deformed, drives an adjustment member engaging the displaceable optical component and adjusts the position of the optical component within the housing.

Endoscope optics

An endoscope optical system has a shaft containing parallel image and light guides, the distal ends of which are covered by a window which closes the distal end of the shaft and which has a light screen near the separating line between the cross-sectional regions of the image guide and the light guide. The window is a one-piece window plate with at least one circular slot forming a light screen. The slot extends parallel to the separating line and is formed in one of the inner or outer surfaces of the window plate. Multiple slots forming a labyrinth are also disclosed.
