A terminal strip is formed as a printed circuit board plug connector and has a strip-like housing composed of a plurality of terminal housings which are arranged alongside one another in an arranging direction X. The housings are mechanically connected to one another. The terminal housings each have a plugging face side on which they have at least one first plugging contact which can be plugged together with a corresponding plugging contact of a corresponding plug connector.

Printed circuit board plug connector

A connection terminal for connecting a conductor is formed as a direct plug-in terminal and includes a clamping spring arranged in a housing. The clamping spring includes a resilient clamping leg which can move into an open and locking position by pressing down an actuating device. The housing contains a conductor insertion channel for insertion of the conductor into a clamping point between the free end of the clamping leg and a busbar. The actuating device includes a pressing element and a pivoting element which interacts with the pressing element at least when the clamping point is being opened. At least one release device is provided for releasing the locking state of the clamping leg of the clamping spring. The release device is designed in such a way that the locking position can be released again by the action of the conductor on the release device when it is inserted, wherein the pivoting element acts on the pressing element and the pressing element acts on the clamping leg.

Connection terminal for conductors

A modular plug connector in a strip-shaped design can be plugged together with a corresponding mating plug connector such as a printed circuit board plug connector. The modular plug connector has a plurality of plug connector modules which are arranged alongside one another and are connected mechanically to one another using mechanical connectors to form the strip shape. The plug connector modules each have a module housing, at least one plugging surface with at least one plugging contact and preferably at least one conductor or solder terminal for connection to a printed circuit board. The plug connector has at least two plug connector modules of different designs and an adapter plug connector module is provided therebetween.

Modular plug connector for a printed circuit board

A direct clamp terminal for connecting a conductor in the form of a flexible stranded conductor includes a housing with a chamber and an insertion conduit for inserting the conductor into the chamber. A bus bar or a clamping cage is provided in the housing and a clamping spring is located in the chamber and acts as a compression spring for securing the electrical conductor to the bus bar or the clamping cage in the area of a clamping point. The clamping spring has a clamping limb that can be pivoted about a pivoting axis and that can be shifted from a detent mode in which it is locked in a detent position into a clamping mode in which it is released from the detent mode and presses the electrical conductor against the bus bar or the clamping cage. The clamping limb can be released from the detent mode using two different shifting devices.

Spring terminal for a conductor

A connector arrangement is provided for supplying electric power to a three-phase motor to produce motor operation in either a delta mode or a star mode, use being made of modular units that are removably mounted within a chamber contained in an outer frame that is secured to the motor housing. A power supply module arranged within the chamber includes a main receptacle containing a stack of terminal blocks having bus bars that transmit to the motor windings three-phase power that is supplied either by external power supply lines that extend into the chamber though openings contained in the side walls of the outer frame, or from an inverter arranged externally of the outer frame. Auxiliary receptacles are removably connected with the external surface of the main receptacle for monitoring the operating condition of the motor, or for controlling a motor operation, such as braking.

Connection arrangement for supplying power to an electric motor

A plug connector and a method of coding of same is characterized by first and second coding elements that are pre-mountable as a unit on at least one of a pair of plug connector components. The other plug connector component is configured so that when the connector components are initially connected together in an axial direction, one of the coding elements is connected with one of the components and the other coding element is connected with the other component. When the components are separated axially, the respective coding elements are separated so that each are retained on the component with which it was originally connected.

Connector apparatus with code means, and method of assembling the same

A printed circuit board arrangement and method includes a planar generally-rectangular vertically-arranged printed circuit board having front and rear surfaces terminating in a peripheral edge, at least one of the front and rear surfaces having a conductive printed circuit thereon. The printed circuit board has a vertical side edge portion containing a recess, and arranged adjacent the recess is a fixed contact connected with a conductor portion of the printed circuit. A relatively narrow conductor housing arranged outside the peripheral edge of the printed circuit board is mounted in the recess with a movable contact carried by the housing in electrical engagement with the fixed contact. The connector housing is supported by a rear wall mounted on the rear surface of the printed circuit board, and by a resilient clip on the connector housing that engages the printed circuit board adjacent the recess.

Electronic housing with a conductive plate

A connector assembly for printed circuit board terminal blocks and the like includes a housing having spaced side and end walls defining a chamber, and a first connector component mounted in the chamber adjacent an access opening contained in the housing walls. A second connector component external of the housing is displaceable between an engaged position in electrical engagement with the first connector component, and a disengaged position disengaged from the first component. A separating lever pivotally connected with the second connector component includes a cam arrangement that cooperates with the housing side walls to displace the second connector component from the engaged position toward the disengaged position relative to the first connector component. A locking arrangement may be provided for locking together the connector components in the electrically engaged condition.

Stackable electronic housing with male or female connector strips

A cable includes a cable sheath in which are embedded a plurality of insulated conductors at least two of which are helically twisted, the cable being provided with visible markings that indicate where one can electrically engage a selected one of the conductors by an insulation-piercing contact. The cable is formed by arranging a plurality of insulated conductors in a light-transmitting synthetic plastic sheath layer, two or more of the insulated conductors being helically twisted about a longitudinal axis, which cable is optically scanned to determine locations at which contiguous portions of the twisted insulated conductors are superposed orthogonally relative to a reference plane, whereupon markings are formed on the cable sheath layer at locations laterally spaced from the contiguous conductor portions, whereby a selected one of the twisted conductors may be engaged by an insulation-piercing contact.

Cable including helically twisted conductors

A connector assembly for a planar vertical printed circuit board includes a housing having a pair of parallel space planar vertical side walls defining an open-topped vertical chamber in which the printed circuit board is mounted. First electrical connectors mounted on the vertical end edges of the printed circuit board include body portions that extend outward beyond the vertical edges of the side walls, which extending body portions contain access openings affording communication with first connector contacts in electrical engagement with the printed circuit board. Protective side cover members are fastened to the housing side walls to partially enclose the extending connector body portions, which cover members contain openings opposite the connector body access openings. The cover members contain ventilation openings for cooling the printed circuit board, and the housing includes a mounting foot arrangement for mounting the printed circuit board assembly on a support rail.

Housing for electrical components

An electrical connector arrangement includes a socket having a central body portion supporting a plurality of female contacts, and a tubular outer portion extending in concentric spaced relation about the body portion to define a groove. A plug component having a cylindrical body portion including a plurality of male contacts includes a tubular end portion that extends axially within the groove to connect the male and female contacts, respectively. A fastening sleeve is rotatably mounted on the plug between the outer surface thereof and the socket outer portion, whereby external screw threads on the sleeve engage internal threads on the socket tubular portion, thereby to fasten together the plug and socket components. In order to reduce the assembly time, the number and length of the screw threads on one of the sleeve and socket components is less than the number and length of the screw threads of the other component.

Electrical connector having plug and socket components

A power supply system for supplying electrical power to at least one load includes a base plate, a support rail and a power supply module fastened to the base plate, at least one bus bar module, and a rail mounting device for mounting the bus bar module on the support rail. The rail mounting device includes conductor members for supplying power from the power supply module to bus bars contained within the bus bar modules, respectively. A first plug has contacts that engage contacts of each of the bus bars of the bus bar module via access slots contained in the cover member thereof, thereby to supply three-phase power to a load such, as a motor, via a heavy-duty power switch and a circuit breaker that are both mounted on the base plate, and associated second and third connecting plugs. Single-phase power is supplied to an auxiliary load, such as an electrical appliance, from two or more bus bars of the bus bar module via a fourth plug.

Mounting and connecting means for electrical components

A connector arrangement for connecting the insulated conductors of a flat cable with an output load includes insulation-piercing contacts that extend upwardly from the horizontal upper surface of the rectangular base member of a connector housing. When a housing cover member is slidably displaced longitudinally of the base member from a first position toward a second position, a first wedge arrangement displaces an actuator plate and a cable support plate downwardly to force the cable into insulation-piercing engagement with the contacts. A locator insulating lug normally extends upwardly from the cable support plate for insertion within an access opening contained in the cable, and between the separated ends defined by an intermediate portion of a conductor that is separated by the access opening. When the cable is uniform and contains no access opening, the lug is displaced by the cable toward an inoperable position relative to the support plate.

Tap-off connecting arrangement for multi-conductor cables

A connector arrangement for connecting the insulated conductors of a flat cable with a plurality of tap-off branch conductors includes a plurality of insulation-piercing contacts that extend upwardly from the horizontal upper surface of the rectangular base member of a connector housing. A horizontal actuator plate is arranged in spaced relation above the contacts to define a space for longitudinally receiving the cable. When a housing cover member is initially slidably displaced longitudinally of the base member from an open first position toward a closed second position, a first wedge arrangement displaces the actuator plate downwardly to force the cable into insulation-piercing engagement with the contacts. When the cover member is subsequently displaced to the fully closed second position, a second wedge arrangement clamps the ends of the actuator plate to the cable, thereby to provide the connector contacts with strain relief protection.

Connector arrangement for multi-conductor cables

An electrical connector for insulated conductors includes a housing containing a chamber and having a conductor opening communicating with the chamber, a bus bar mounted in the chamber adjacent the conductor opening, a compression spring mounted in the chamber for biasing the bare end of an insulated conductor inserted into the chamber via the conductor opening into electrical engagement with the bus bar, a retaining device normally retaining the spring in a retracted inoperable condition, and a manually operable release member for releasing the spring to its operable condition. In one embodiment, the release member is connected for sliding movement between releasing and retaining positions, and the housing contains a reset access opening. In a second embodiment, the release member includes a pair of rigid sections joined by a flexible section, the release member being movable between retaining and releasing positions by operating buttons at exposed ends of the sections.
