The invention relates to a method for processing a spatial image assembled from partial images or a time sequence of such images by processing the image data in individual processing modules according to an execution sequence and depending on adjustable processing parameters, wherein each module performs processing steps and the sequence is determined by a selectable linking of the. Further, each module is able to exchange data with the modules to which it is linked. If parameters are changed for two modules linked to each other in the execution sequence, (a) an upstream module transmits to a downstream module which areas of the image data present at the upstream module are affected by the change, (b) the downstream module transmits to the upstream module which image data it requires to perform the processing steps thereof. The upstream module recalculates only said image data, and transmits them to the downstream module.

Method for processing a spatial image

The invention relates to a method for orienting an optical element (e. g. a parallax barrier screen or lenticular screen) on a screen comprising pixels x(i, j) in a raster composed of lines (i) and columns (j) in order to produce a screen for three-dimensional representation. In said method, especially a test pattern is presented which consists of various views A(k), wherein k=1, . . . , n, and n&#x3e;1. The test pattern comprises at least two first straight lines that are located in different horizontal positions in the n&#x3e;1 views A(k) as well as at least two second straight lines which each extend parallel to one of the first straight lines and are located in at least the same horizontal positions in the n&#x3e;1 views A(k). The method according to the invention can be carried out quickly and with high accuracy and is therefore suitable for industrial use to produce screens for three-dimensional representation.

Method for orienting an optical element on a screen

The invention relates to an arrangement and a method for the recording and display of images of a scene and/or an object. They are suitable especially for the spatially perceived display of the recorded images. The problem of finding a new way of recording, with the least possible effort, images of real scenes or objects and subsequently displaying them three-dimensionally in two or more views by autostereoscopy is solved, according to the invention, in such a way that at least one main camera of a first camera type and at least one satellite camera of a second camera type are provided for the recording of images, with an image conversion device and a 3D image display device being arranged downstream of the cameras. The two camera types differ in at least one parameter; and a total of at least three cameras are provided. The invention also comprises a method for the transmission of 3D information.

Arrangement and method for the recording and display of images of a scene and/or an object

A method for the orientation of a parallax barrier screen on a display screen with pixels x(ij) in a pattern of rows (i) and columns (j) for the production of a display screen for three-dimensional representation. Particularly, a test image is presented comprising various views A(k) where k=1, . . . , n and n=6 or n=7, wherein the test image comprises at least two first straight lines having two different directions of extension from one another, said lines being disposed in different horizontal positions in the n=6 or n=7 views A(k), wherein the test image comprises at least two second straight lines that are each oriented parallel to one of the first straight lines and that are disposed at least at the same horizontal positions in the n=6 or n=7 views A(k). The method according to the invention may be performed quickly and with a high degree of accuracy and is therefore suitable for industrial use for the production of display screens for three-dimensional representation.
