A plastic film composite for film packaging with an oriented outer film and a sealing film which differs from the outer film, both of which outer film and sealing film are either polyethylene-based or polypropylene-based. The outer film and the sealing film are connected by a polyolefin-based extrusion lamination comprising at least one layer. A film packaging comprising the plastic film lamination and a method for the production of packaging containers uses the plastic film composite.

Front and back panels have side seams that fix the panel side edges of the front panel to the panel side edges of the back panel and each extend a full vertical length of the respective panel side edges. A label formed from a separate piece of film covers one of the face panels between the side edges thereof, is disconnected from the one face panel between the panel side seams, has label side edges generally at the respective side panel edges, and secures the label to the one face panel. Respective secondary side seams are provided between the side edges of the label and the side edges of the one panel, and respective tear lines are formed in the label closely adjacent and generally parallel to each of the label side edges. There is printing on the label only between the tear lines.

A method for manufacturing a plastic fabric-film composite product includes forming an extruded-film web with at least one sealing layer by film extrusion in such a way that the sealing layer is located on a first side of the extruded-film web and then, feeding and laminating a plastic-fabric web made of film-strip fabric and the prefabricated extruded-film strip with one another to form a composite web. The composite web is formed in such a way that a second side of the extruded-film web faces a first side of the plastic-fabric web.

A bag has front and back face panels having upright longitudinally extending side edges and transversely extending upper and lower edges. First and second gusset panels each have transversely extending upper and lower edges and upright longitudinal outer edges connected to the longitudinal edges of the face panels. A reclosable fastener strip extends continuously and transversely along the first gusset panel and inward along each of the face panels from the first gusset panel along part of a transverse width of the face panels. Thus opening of the fastener and folding out of the first gusset panel forms a spout on the bag. A separate generally rectangular floor panel is joined at its outer edge by thermal welds to the lower edges of the face panels and of the gusset panels.

Side-gusset bag and method of making a side-gusset bag

A side-gusset bag made of a plastic film/fabric laminate has front and rear panels formed of the laminate. Side gussets between the front panel and the rear panel, each formed with a pair of flanks meeting at a center fold, and each connected to the front panel and rear panel at respective edge folds. A lower end flap of the front panel and the flanges between the front panel and the rear panel having respective lower edges that are stepped to form exposed lower edge regions covered with glue such that, when folded rearward along a lower edge of the rear panel, the glue on these lower edge regions directly engages a rear face of the rear panel and secures the lower edge regions to the rear panel to form a bottom gusset.

A woven plastic bag is made by longitudinally feeding flat-lying fabric web having a layer of woven-together plastic strips on a first face, opposite longitudinal edge regions spaced transversely from each other and each extending over about 10% of a transverse width of the fabric web, and a middle section between the longitudinal edge regions. A pattern is applied the first face of the fabric web in a pattern that repeats along the production direction only locally with a coating in the form of a film or in the form of a liquid plastic of a width or shape that varies transversely, and the fabric web is shaped into a fabric tube. In order to form individual woven plastic bags, the fabric tube is cut transversely into pieces of the fabric tube suitable for subsequent filling and sealing.

Method of making a woven plastic bag

The invention relates to a flat-lying side-gusset bag made of a plastic fabric composite () and to a method for the production thereof. The side-gusset bag has opposing front walls (), side gussets () introduced in between said front walls (), and folding edges () between the front walls () and the side gussets (). Peripheral sections of the plastic fabric composite () are connected together in an overlapping region () at a longitudinal seam, wherein the plastic fabric composite () has a plastic fabric () and at least one closed plastic layer. The side gussets () extend, in the case of the flat-lying side-gusset bag, in each case over at most &#x2153; of the width of the front walls. According to the invention, the overlapping region (10) is arranged off-center on one of the front walls () at least partially over one of the side gussets () or at one of the side gussets (). In order to be able to form such a side-gusset bag, in the production method, first of all a closed, two-layer tube () is formed, from which a side-gusset tube () is subsequently formed.

A side-gusset bag has front and back face panels each having two longitudinally extending side edges. Two folded side panels are each joined to the face panels at the side edges and each having a center longitudinally extending crease between the respective side edges. A handle assembly consists of a pair of substantially identical handle halves each formed by two longitudinally spaced ends fixed to one of the side folds to a respective side of the crease thereof and a middle section extending between the respective ends and formed unitarily therewith of plastic film. The middle sections are transversely spaced and form an open longitudinally extending gap at least 2 mm wide and aligned with the respective crease. The middle sections extend transversely over less than 80% of a transverse width of the one side fold and have outer edges space at least 5 mm from the respective side edges.

Side-gusset bag and method of making same

A bag has two juxtaposed face panels of plastic film and each having two parallel side edges and top and bottom edges. A gusset extends between one of the side edges of one of the panels and the juxtaposed side edge of the other of the panels. The gusset is movable between a folded-in condition lying mainly between the panels and an extended condition projecting laterally past the panels and forming a spout generally at the top edges. A slide fastener at the top edges has two profile strips that can be locked to each other and that each have an attachment flap, and a slider shiftable along the profile strips in a closing direction to close the strips together and in an opposite opening direction to separate the strips. Joints secure the attachment flaps directly to inner faces of the respective face panels at the respective upper edges.

A side-gusset bag has face panels each having a pair of side edges. Two respective side gussets are each connected between a respective one of the side edges of one of the face panels and a respective one of the side edges of the other face panel. The face panels and side gussets together form a bag body formed along each of the side edges flanking one of the gussets with at least one slot. Two respective carry handles each have a middle section outside the body and a pair of ends extending through a respective one of the slots with the two carry handles at least generally aligned with each other. Welds secure each of the ends inside the body to the respective side gusset and close the slots around the ends.

A stand-up pour bag has front and back panels made of a thermoplastic film and having joined longitudinal edges and upper and lower transverse edges bridging the transverse edges. An inwardly folded lower end panel made of thermoplastic film extends between and is joined to the lower edges of the front and back panels, and an inwardly folded upper end panel made of thermoplastic film extends between and is secured at joints to the upper edges of the front and back panels. A closable pourer is bonded to the upper end panel and the upper edge of the front panel at the joint between the upper end panel and the upper edge of the front panel. A carry handle made of a thermoplastic film is bonded to the back panel generally centrally and inward of the edges thereof.
