The invention relates to vehicle tires for utility vehicles, comprising a belt () and a tread profile that extends in the axial direction A of the vehicle tire between two tire shoulders, in each of which a profiled shoulder strip () is formed that extends over the circumference of the vehicle tire. The profiled shoulder strip is delimited in the axial direction A towards the equatorial plane &#xc4; of the tire by a groove (), which extends over the circumference of the vehicle tire, and on the profiled strip face facing away from the equatorial plane &#xc4; by a respective surface of the tire lateral wall (), which forms the profiled shoulder strip () flank facing away from the equatorial plane &#xc4;. The tread profile is delimited by a surface which forms the road contact surface on the sectional planes containing the tire axis, said surface forming a surface contour line K which is curved towards the tire between the profiled shoulder strips (). In at least one profiled shoulder strip (), the surface which forms the road contact surface is formed as the extension of the curved surface contour line K into the profiled shoulder strip () in an axial first extension section () of the width a, said extension section adjoining the circumferential groove (), and the radial position of the surface which forms the road contact surface constantly decreases outwards along the axial extension in a second extension section () of the width c, said extension section adjoining the first extension section () and extending to the surface of the tire lateral wall. The surface which forms the road contact surface is formed by a first sub-portion (), which extends to a point P, and a second sub-portion (), which extends from the point P to the surface of the tire lateral wall (), in the second extension section () such that the surface which forms the road contact surface has a concave contour progression in the first sub-portion () and a convex contour progression in the second sub-portion () with a turning point of the contour progression in the point P, said point P being arranged outside of the belt () in the axial direction A.

Vehicle tires

A pneumatic vehicle tire for commercial vehicles is provided wherein the wet traction properties are improved with simultaneously good rolling resistance properties. At least 120 transverse grooves are arranged in each of the central profile ribs over the entire circumference of the tire. The width (B) of the transverse grooves in the central profile ribs is maximally 1.5 mm at a distance of 3.5 mm from the profile surface, and the width of each inner circumferential groove is maximally 4 mm at a distance of 3.5 mm from the profile surface.

Pneumatic vehicle tire

The invention relates to a pneumatic vehicle tire for utility vehicles having a belt which has a plurality of belt layers and having a tread () with circumferential grooves () which run in the circumferential direction and divide the tread () into circumferential ribs (). An envelope h which runs parallel to the periphery of the tread in the tread () and is in contact with the deepest circumferential groove or grooves from the radially inner side, defines, together with the periphery of the tread and the shoulder-side edge sections (), a tread gross volume (V), wherein all the grooves () in the tread () define a groove volume (V) between 5% and 28% of the tread gross volume (V), wherein three circumferential grooves () are provided which are arranged over the axial width of the tread () in such a way that the first circumferential groove () is arranged in the region of the one edge () of the widest belt layer, the second circumferential groove () is arranged in the region of the other edge () of the widest belt layer of the belt, and the third circumferential groove () is arranged between the first circumferential groove () and the second circumferential groove () in the tread (), and wherein the first and second circumferential grooves () each have a groove volume (V) between 1.25% and 7.00% of the tread gross volume (V), and the third circumferential groove () has a groove volume (V) of the first or of the second circumferential groove which is at least twice as large.
