A measuring device for determining the filling level of a filling material in a container is simple and inexpensive to produce and allows largely continuous determination of the filling level of an unknown filling material in a container. The measuring device has at least three measuring sensors in mutually spaced relationship in a heightwise direction. A read-out device having at least three measuring inputs for reading out the measuring sensor signals is provided. Each measuring sensor signal depends on material properties of a filling material arranged adjacent to the respective measuring sensor. A calibration device which effects calculation of the filling level detected by a measuring sensor positioned neither right at the top nor right at the bottom in the heightwise direction, on the basis of the measuring sensor signal of the further upwardly arranged measuring sensor and/or the further downwardly arranged measuring sensor.

Fill level sensor

A displacement pump includes a delivery chamber, connected to a pressure connection and a suction connection. A displacement element determines the volume of the delivery chamber and can be moved back and forth between a first position, in which the delivery chamber has a smaller volume, and a second position, in which the delivery chamber has a larger volume. The pressure connection is connected to the delivery chamber by a pressure valve and the suction connection is connected to the delivery chamber by a suction valve. The displacement pump is easy and economical to produce and simultaneously reliably provides a degassing function, whereby downtimes can be reduced and the reliability of the delivery process can be increased. With the pressure valve closed, a backflow channel connects the delivery chamber and pressure connection, through which medium can enter the delivery chamber and/or gas can escape from the delivery chamber.

Displacement pump with forced venting

The present invention relates to a metering system for metering a liquid metering medium, with a suction line, which is filled with a metering medium at the liquid pressure p, and a pressure line, which is filled with the metering medium at the liquid pressure wherein the suction line is connected to the pressure line by a metering member configured as a metering pump, with which metering medium can be conveyed from the suction line into the pressure line, wherein the metering pump has a conveying chamber, the volume of which can be changed with the aid of a movable displacement element in such a way that, in a first position of the displacement element, the conveying chamber has a minimum volume Vand, in a second position of the displacement element, the conveying chamber has a maximum volume V, the conveying chamber being connected by a pressure valve to the pressure line and by a suction valve to the suction line, so, by an oscillating movement of the displacement element, metering medium can alternately be sucked out of the suction line via the suction valve into the conveying chamber and metering medium can be discharged from the conveying chamber via the pressure valve into the pressure line. In order to provide a metering system and a metering pump adapted for this, which has a high degree of efficiency, exhibits no leakage flow and is simply constructed, it is proposed according to the invention that wherein &#x3ba;=1.5.
