A method of a control node, operable in a communication network and comprising controlling circuitry configured to estimate quality of service (QoS) for geographical locations in the network is disclosed. The method comprises receiving () from a user operable in the network a request signal indicative of a starting point and a destination point, acceptable quality of service during transit of the user from the starting point to the destination point and transit time; determining () one or more routes from the starting point to the destination point based on transit time and on estimated QoS for a plurality of geographical locations of the one or more routes in view of the accepted QoS; providing () information of the determined one or more routes to the user; and dynamically updating () the determined one or more routes based on received information pertaining to experienced QoS associated with geographical locations pertaining to the determined one or more routes during transit of the user. Corresponding computer program product, and control node are also disclosed.

Route planning based on QoS requirements

Disclosed is a method for a communication device comprising a plurality of antenna elements arranged in an antenna array structure and configured to perform dynamic calibration of the antenna elements for beamforming. The method comprises performing interference level measurements and antenna calibration measurements during an antenna calibration opportunity, and adapting the antenna calibration measurements for one or more of the antenna elements based on the measured interference level. Corresponding apparatus, communication device and computer program product are also disclosed.

Calibration for antenna elements of a multi-antenna structure

Methods of a first communication device and of a server are disclosed, for enabling inbound Internet protocol (IP) traffic to the first communication device. The server is associated with an operator network and with a wake-up server identity. The first communication device has an operator specific device identity related to the operator network and is subject to network address translation (NAT). A wake-up registration request is transmitted by the first communication device to the server and the server provides a wake-up identifier to the first communication device for triggering a wake-up action for enabling the inbound IP traffic. The wake-up identifier comprises at least a first part indicative of a wake-up device identity and a second part indicative of the wake-up server identity.

Remote wake-up of a device behind a NAT

The solution presented herein improves the power consumption of an antenna array, such as used in beamforming systems, based on the antenna weights of the one or more antenna elements of the subarrays of the antenna array. To that end, a transmitter node comprising the antenna array determines whether the antenna weights of each subarray satisfy a threshold condition. If the weights satisfy the threshold condition, the transmitter node disables the corresponding power amplifier.

Methods of energy optimization for multi-antenna systems

A wireless communication apparatus () uses a RADAR or LIDAR assembly to scan for obstructions in predefined beam directions relative to a directional antenna () and correspondingly classifies each direction as obstructed or unobstructed. Then, at least for communication signal frequencies above a defined frequency threshold, the apparatus () configures beamforming at the directional antenna () to prioritize beams corresponding to the unobstructed directions, or avoid beams corresponding to the obstructed directions. The beam prioritization or avoidance applies to transmit beamforming, receive beamforming, or both. In one or more implementations, the direction classifications may not be binary. For example, detected obstruction distances along the beam directions may be used to 'grade' the respective directions in terms of usage priority, beam adaptations, and/or restrictions on the communication frequencies used.
