The disclosure relates to a polyphase transverse flux machine including a stator and a rotor configured to rotate relative to the stator about an axis in a circumferential direction. The transverse flux machine includes an electrical line running along a plurality of yokes in the circumferential direction, and a pair of permanent magnet arrays running in parallel in the circumferential direction. A plurality of return path bodies is provided in the stator, wherein each yoke has an associated return path body at a distance from the associated yoke in the radial direction. The magnetization direction of the permanent magnets in the permanent magnet arrays changes in such a way that a closed magnetic flux repeatedly occurs at each yoke during rotation of the rotor. The closed magnetic flux runs from one permanent magnet array across a respective yoke to the other permanent magnet array, and from there, across the associated return path body, back to the first-mentioned permanent magnet array.

In a method for manufacturing a gearwheel, a gearwheel blank is clamped in a workholder of a multi-axis machine tool. A milling head is clamped in a tool holder which is rotated by a spindle drive to enable the milling head to mill out tooth spaces of the gearwheel blank to thereby create a gearwheel having teeth. After replacing the milling head in the tool holder with an inductor, the inductor is inserted successively between two adjacent teeth of the gearwheel and supplied with alternating current from a current supply device of the spindle drive to inductively heat at least one of the two adjacent teeth. The inductor in the tool holder is then replaced with a machining tool to remachine the teeth of the gearwheel.

A drive arrangement with a first motor and a second motor is described, the first and second motor being coupled via a first coupling unit. The first motor is provided to generate uniform low-frequency movements and the second motor performs a higher frequency alternating movement to be overlapped. The total movement is transmitted from the second motor to a machine component coupled via a second coupling unit. The first coupling unit is configured to transfer the uniform low-frequency movement of the first motor to the second motor, wherein a transmission of the higher frequency alternating movement of the second motor to the first motor is suppressed.
