A dialysis acid precursor assembly including: a bicarbonate containing concentrate and a dialysis acid concentrate solution including powder components mixed with water. The powder components include (1) a sodium chloride powder, (2) at least one dry acid powder, and (3) a magnesium chloride 4.5-hydrate (MgCl.4.5HO) powder in a quantity such that a concentration of about 7.5-50 mM magnesium ions is provided in the dialysis acid concentrate solution.

A dialysis acid precursor assembly including: a dry dialysis acid precursor composition including sodium chloride, a dry acid and a magnesium chloride 4.5-hydrate (MgCl2.4.5H2O), a calcium salt and at least one of a potassium salt, calcium salt and an anhydrous glucose, and a moisture-resistant container having a water vapor transmission rate less than 0.2 g/m2/d at 38&#xb0; C./90% RH, wherein the dry dialysis acid precursor composition is sealed in the container.

A container including a first side wall and a second side wall that are permanently joined by at least one seam such that a chamber is formed between the side walls. A peelable seal separates the chamber into a first sub-chamber and a second sub-chamber that are capable of receiving liquid contents, which may be mixed if the peelable seal is opened. The seam includes a protrusion that extends into the chamber, and the peelable seal extends over the protrusion.
