The invention relates to a device () for melting a hot-melt adhesive (), comprising a heating plate (), a plunger (), the plunger () comprising a plunger end face (), and a mounting (), wherein the mounting () is suitable for receiving a storage container (), which has a rigid lateral wall () and two opposite side faces () and contains the hot-melt adhesive (), in such a manner that the hot-melt adhesive () is arranged between the plunger () and the to heating plate (), and the plunger end face () and the heating plate () are arranged opposite one another, wherein the heating plate (), the plunger () and the mounting () are so dimensioned that the storage container () having an inner volume () of more than 50 L can be received. Device and method for melting a hot-melt adhesive

The present invention relates to an article whose surface has been at least partly sealed and to methods of its sealing, the sealing layer comprising a reactive melt layer and a coating layer. The invention provides a method of sealing at least part of the surface of an article, comprising the steps of: (a) applying a reactive melt layer based on polyurethane to at least one part of the surface of the article; (b) smoothing the reactive melt layer; and (c) applying a coating material to form a coating layer on the reactive melt layer, the coating layer being applied before the full curing of the reactive melt layer.
