A method for the operation of a combine harvester includes processing a harvested material flow by at least one axial separator and ejecting a residual material flow formed in this way from the combine harvester by at least two ejection devices. The axial separator is formed by a movable vane element by means of which the residual material flow exiting from the axial separator is distributed on a work member downstream of the axial separator. In order to further improve the distribution of the residual material flow on the field, an actual distribution of the residual material flow on the two ejection devices is detected, wherein, when a deviation of the actual distribution from a predetermined reference distribution is detected, the vane element is readjusted so that the actual distribution is at least approximated to the reference distribution.

Method for the operation of a combine harvester, and self-propelled combine harvester

A driver assistance system for a combine harvester that has a processing stage with an input for a crop flow, a first output for a useful flow and has abundant threshed grains, and a second output for a residual flow with scarce grains. At least one operating parameter of the processing stage is adjustable. The driver assistance system has an actuatable rethreshing device arranged at the second output of the processing stage, a residual grain sensor for detecting a proportion of threshed out grain in the residual flow downstream of the rethreshing device, and an evaluating device that turns the rethreshing device on and off, compares the proportions of threshed out grains in the residual flow when the rethreshing device is turned on and when the rethreshing device is turned off, and to adapt the at least one operating parameter of the processing stage based on the comparison.

Combine harvester and driver assistance system therefor

A separator arrangement has an inlet head housing, a feed drum and two axial separating rotors projecting by one end portionwise into the inlet head housing. The inlet head housing has planar inlet portions which extend over the width of the respective axial separating rotor and between which is arranged a ramp-shaped housing portion extending paraxial to the conveying direction of the axial separating rotors and which assists in dividing a harvested material flow into partial flows to be fed to the axial separating rotors. At least one separating element is associated with the ramp-shaped housing portion and has a base body which extends perpendicular to the surface of the housing portion and which has an end face formed as a cutting edge. A coating comprising a wear-resistant second material is arranged on the end face and extends substantially medially in the longitudinal direction of the end face.

Concave segment for harvest separation

An inlet head housing for an axial separating device includes a pair of separating rotors arranged parallel to one another having a first end protruding, in sections, into the inlet head housing. The inlet head housing also includes flat inlet sections extending along a width of each of the respective separating rotors and a ramp-shaped housing section having a substantially concave profile is arranged between the flat inlet sections. The housing section at least partially supports a separation of a crop flow into two partial flows to the separating rotors and a substantially blade-shaped separating element is arranged on the ramp-shaped housing section and extends substantially axially parallel thereto.

An axial separator for a combine harvester has a separating rotor which is rotatably supported in a housing including, as viewed in the conveyance direction, a receiving region for crop material, a separating region, and a transfer region for crop material residue, a wall that limits the transfer region in sections and a guide element disposed in the transfer region. The guide element influences the flow of crop material residue conveyed from the transfer region to a further-handling unit and, is disposed on the housing such that its position is changeable in the circumferential direction.

A mounting component for securing a crop handling element to a separator rotor is embodied as a profile-section component, with side walls facing toward one another and extending in some portions in the circumferential direction of the separator rotor; for securing the mounting component to the surface of the separator rotor, and each of the side walls of the mounting component has a longitudinal weld seam, extending essentially parallel to the side wall, with a weld seam portion extending beyond the length of the respective side wall, which weld seam portion is embodied at an angle to the respective side wall.
