The invention comprises a packaging arrangement for a food item that is cut into segments and positioned on microwaveable susceptor material selected for the size shape and desired cooking properties of he food item to be prepared. The segmented food items can be any shape or size or type of food, however pizza is a preferred food item. The microwaveable susceptor material may have walls surrounding the food item. The food items may be arranged to resemble the whole food item in the package. Each segment of the food item may be individually wrapped so that one or more segments can be save for later use. The segmented food items with associated microwave susceptors are particularly suitable for being dispensed from refrigerated vending machines located in schools, factories, food courts, convenience stores and where microwave ovens are available.

Packaging for individually microwaveable portions of food items

A process for microwave heating a pre-packaged frozen entree so that the heated pre-packaged frozen entree exhibits improved taste or appearance characteristics. The process includes providing the pre-packaged frozen entree in a container. The frozen entree has at least two food components. Each of the food components is discretely and loosely frozen. One of the food components is removed from the container. The food components that remain in the container are heated with microwave radiation for a first selected time interval. The food components are replaced into the container and another one of the food components is removed from the container. The food components that remain in the container are heated with microwave radiation for a second selected time interval. Each of the components is heated to a selected degree so that each of the food components does not experience a decrease in taste or appearance characteristics that would result from over-heating.

Method of microwave heating a pre-packaged frozen entree

A microwavable pizza product and a package combination is disclosed herein. The package combination includes a pizza crust having a semi-circular shape and a pizza topping is deposited on top of the crust. The topped pizza crust is packaged with a microwave susceptor member under the bottom of the crust, and a support member under the susceptor member. A plastic film encloses the pizza product, susceptor member and support member, and the entire package is enclosed in a carton.

A folded pastry product and method for making the product are disclosed herein. The product incorporates a layered dough and fat pastry shape having a first end and a second end, a first flanged portion adjacent the first end and a second flanged portion adjacent the second end, each of the flanged portions including at least a pair of flanges and a narrowed area having side edges for holding the filling product. The flanges are overlapped to provide a recessed and sealed area for holding the filling product. The general shape of the pastry allows for efficient cutting from the pastry sheet and allowing for a minimum of wasted dough product. A method is also disclosed wherein a layered dough pastry shell is formed by cutting a shape from a sheet of layered dough, applying a filling to the shape, folding flanges of the dough shape in an overlapping fashion, indenting the flanges to clear a sealing area of filling before being sealed with a crimper. The filling may be baked along with the resulting pastry shell to provide a visible section of filling and to allow efficient baking thereof.

Folded pastry product

An improved process for making dough crust in which docked dough pieces are cooked in multiple stages. Cooking can include an initial baking step in which the dough is essentially completely cooked and its interior structure substantially completely set, and a subsequent deep frying step which produces a crisp exterior and a desirable fried dough taste with substantially no change to the interior structure and only limited oil penetration. The multiple cooking steps can include a plurality of sequential baking steps in which the dough is baked at differing temperatures in each zone. The dough can be produced by a laminated process in which multiple layers of sheeted dough are layered one on top of the other with shortening therebetween, and cooked by a multiple zone oven having differing temperatures.

Method of making dough crust product

An improved dough crust made by a process involving baking and then frying is described. The crust has a fried flavor and is especially advantageous for making frozen pizzas. The crust is formed from a sheeted dough piece which has been docked. During the baking step the docking holes bake through. A hard surface forms in them to both prevent oil absorption through the holes and to prevent crust delamination. After the crust has cooled pizza topping can be applied and the crust frozen.

Process of making a dough crust

A display package comprising a semi-rigid outer container having a front wall and a back wall with a cutout creating an opening in the front wall. The outer container encloses an inner container, the latter comprising a sheet or pouch of film plastic on a food product base, a plurality of intermediate pouches loosely enclosing separate food product ingredients, and an outer pouch of shrink film plastic heat shrunk onto the base over the intermediate pouches so as to hold them in place. The film forms a window for viewing the food products through the cutout.

Display package

A commodity can assembly comprising upper and lower cylindrical cans having beads around opposed ends which are releasably gripped by a storage unit connector. The connector is molded of stiff but slightly resilient plastic and includes a cylindrical wall having annular lips inside it which grip the can beads. Between the lips a spaced pair of inwardly extending shoulders serve as stop for the can ends and define a compartment between them in which a third commodity is stored for marketing.

Container assembly

A method of teaching and reminding a golfer of the basic fundamentals necessary to production of a good golf swing and, in addition, a golf glove construction. A series of phrases, each of which visually advises a golfer to perform one specific function fundamental to the golf swing, are arranged in a prescribed order on an adhesive strip of material elongated on one axis. The strip is fastened to the golf glove on the back of a golfer's upper hand with said axis extending back from the golfer's forefinger and generally intersecting the line of sight. The golfer views the instructions as he addresses the ball, swings to impact and follows through.
