An electrophotographic photoreceptor and method for forming a photoreceptor is disclosed which is provided with an anticorrosion layer on the interface between the supporting substrate surface and the undercoat layer. The photoreceptor has a high mechanical strength and minimizes defects in print for longer periods of time.

Photoreceptor member

Provided is an imaging member comprising a substrate, an undercoat layer (UCL), a charge generation layer, a charge transport layer, and an optional overcoat layer. The undercoat layer is formed from a single-phase UCL coating formulation comprising an organic titanate, a polymer containing active hydrogen, and an aminosilane. The UCL formulation has improved properties such as stability, processing convenience, and longer pot life etc. The UCL formulation can be used to manufacture an imaging member such as photoreceptor with improved properties such as stable, thick UCL coating, resistance to electrical failure, and PIDC independency on UCL thickness etc.

Imaging member

An electrophotographic photoreceptor is disclosed which is provided with an anti-corrosion layer on the interface between the substrate surface and hole blocking layer. The photoreceptor has high mechanical strength and minimizes defects in print for longer periods of time.

An imaging member includes a substrate, an intermediate layer, and a photoconductor layer, where the intermediate layer includes hydrolyzed semi-conductive nanoparticles, such as hydrolyzed semi-conductive nanoparticles formed by reaction of a metal alkoxide and an amine.

High-performance surface layer for photoreceptors

An undercoat composition and resulting layer formed therefrom, is disclosed which finds particular application in multilayered photoreceptors, such as are used in xerographic printing systems. The undercoat composition comprises an n-type pigment and a binary binder comprising an isocyanate and a phenolic resin.

Imaging members

An electrographic or electrostatographic imaging member comprises a supporting substrate, an undercoating layer, a charge generating layer, and a charge transport layer. Thick undercoating layers were prepared with a charge erase enabler by doping an undercoating layer with a charge generating pigment that is strongly absorbing at typical erase lamp light. Doped thick undercoating layers demonstrate good electrical properties with an erase energy reduction of at least 50 V. A process for fabricating an imaging member and an apparatus comprising such an member are also disclosed.

Thick intermediate and undercoating layers for electrophotographic imaging members, and method for making the same

A photoconductive imaging member including a hole blocking layer, a photogenerating layer, and a charge transport layer, and wherein the hole blocking layer contains, for example, a metal oxide; and a mixture of a phenolic compound and a phenolic resin, and wherein the phenolic compound can contain at least two phenolic groups.

Photoconductive imaging members

A photoconductive imaging member including a hole blocking layer, a photogenerating layer, and a charge transport layer, and wherein the hole blocking layer contains, for example, a metal oxide dispersed in an in situ formed inorganic/organic network wherein the inorganic component is silica, titania or zirconia, and the organic component is a mixture of a phenolic compound and a phenolic resin, and wherein the phenolic compound can contain, for example, at least two phenolic groups.

A process including: creating a galvanic cell composed of a substrate as an anode, a cathode, and an electrolytic solution, wherein the substrate includes a metal surface having a plurality of metal fibers connected to the metal surface, wherein the cathode is selected to be more noble than the metal surface resulting in the anode being the working electrode, wherein the galvanic cell spontaneously electrochemically treats the metal surface in the absence of power externally supplied to the galvanic cell; and allowing the spontaneous electrochemical treatment of the metal surface to continue for a time sufficient to sever a number of the metal fibers from the metal surface to result in severed metal fiber fragments unconnected with the metal surface.
