The compositions and methods are related to plant breeding and methods of identifying and selecting disease resistance genes. Provided are methods to identify novel genes that encode proteins providing plant resistance to various diseases and uses thereof. These disease resistant genes are useful in the production of resistant plants through breeding, transgenic modification, or genome editing.

Methods of identifying, selecting, and producing disease resistant crops

The field is related to plant breeding and methods of identifying and selecting plants with resistance to southern corn rust. Provided are methods to identify novel genes that encode proteins providing plant resistance to southern corn rust and uses thereof. These disease resistant genes are useful in the production of resistant plants through breeding, transgenic modification, or genome editing.

Methods of identifying, selecting, and producing southern corn rust resistant crops

Compositions and methods useful in identifying and counter-selecting maize plants with having enhanced yield-related traits relative to control plants under abiotic stress conditions such as salt stress and/or drought are provided herein.
