A payment interchange for use in a global shopping cart and a method for its use are provided. Also, provide is management of data relationships between a global online shopping cart and various manager components that encompass data management access. The global shopping cart includes a storage medium having thereon computer instructions for implementing one or more functions of the global shopping cart, and a processor for executing the computer instructions to provide functions including a payment function for paying for an item to be purchased. The global shopping cart has a flexible application programming interface (API) framework sufficient to support the payment interchange including the payment function for paying for an item to be purchased by one or more users of the global shopping cart and by one or more payment modes or sources.

Systems and methods for verifying individuals prior to distribution of one or more benefits are disclosed. One example method includes receiving, at an interface peripheral of a payment card device, a biometric from an individual associated with the device and comparing the received biometric to a biometric reference stored in a memory of the device. The method also includes, in response to the received biometric matching the biometric reference, setting a biometric status in the memory of the device for an expiration interval and enabling the device for transactions to be funded by an account linked to the device, based on the biometric status being set. The method then includes, in response to expiration of the expiration interval, resetting the biometric status in the device and disabling the device for transactions to be funded by the account, based on the biometric status not being set.

Methods and systems for verifying individuals prior to benefits distribution

A plurality of bank identification number (BIN) ranges are characterized according to credit risk. A list of the plurality of bank identification number (BIN) ranges characterized by credit risk is made available to a transit-specific payment network interface processor, which is coupled to a plurality of memory-constrained fare gates of a transit authority. The list is configured to be distributed to the memory-constrained fare gates of the transit authority. Advantageously, the list based on BIN ranges takes up less memory than a list based on individual account numbers or the like and can be maintained in memory at the memory-constrained fare gates for rapid decisioning.

One exemplary method includes receiving, at a server, a proof-of-life validation from a payment service provider. The system comprises an electronic storage device having a database of cardholder profile information and location information stored therein; an access path for allowing access to the cardholder profile information and location information; and a processor for assembling the cardholder profile information and location information in the database, and for providing the assembled cardholder profile information and location information to a merchant and a cardholder that have been granted access to the database. The assembled cardholder profile information and location information are provided to the merchant and the cardholder so as to effect targeted interaction between the merchant and cardholder based at least in part on the assembled cardholder profile information and location information. A method for monitoring efficiency of a transaction between a merchant and a cardholder, and for determining customer shopping trends at a merchant facility.
