Techniques are described for determining whether a submitted work, such as a manuscript submitted for publication as an electronic book, is consistent with other published works associated with a fictional world, universe, or other framework. A set of constraints may be determined based on a semantic analysis of the published works of a framework, the constraint(s) describing attributes of noun objects or relationships between noun objects in the published work(s). Statements may be determined by applying the semantic analysis to the submitted work. Inconsistencies between the statements and the constraints may be identified and communicated to reviewers, for use in determining whether to publish the work. Comparison of the statements to the constraints may be made through reference to other statements included in a knowledge base of information regarding the framework.

Natural language based content analysis

A mobile device is configured to operate in at least three modes that provide increased functionality, increased power consumption, and/or increased user input/output. In one example, the mobile device includes a first mode where some electrical components are powered down, and a secondary display may provide some information to a user. In a second mode, a primary display is energized and an audio mode is initially activated. A third mode provides full or nearly full functionality and/or user input/output.

A secondary display system on a mobile device to allow a user to check the status of mobile device services without having to turn on or otherwise rely upon the primary display of the mobile device. The secondary display presents a count of messages that are waiting to be accessed by the mobile device user. When a new message is received for the user, a summary of the message is displayed to the mobile device user. When a user accesses one of the waiting messages, the count of unopened messages is decremented. The secondary display system may perform queue management to ensure that only counts of recently received messages are displayed. The secondary display system may offer different status modes to highlight the status of different mobile device services or states. The secondary display system may also allow a user to respond to a received message in a limited manner.

Improved keyboard accelerators are provided for executing functionalities of a software application utilizing text-based and non text-based buttons or controls. Upon selection of a prescribed keyboard accelerator initiation key, for example, the 'Alt' key, a keyboard accelerator key tip in the form of a small window is displayed over the functionality buttons or controls displayed in a deployed user interface. Each key tip is labeled with one or more text characters for informing a user as to a secondary keyboard selection that must be made to execute the associated functionality.

Slide presentation files may be separated into one or more individual slide files, and the one or more individual slide files may be stored in a remote or local slide library. Stored individual slide files are populated with metadata for allowing subsequent search and location of individual slide files. A synchronization relationship may be established between a stored slide file and a copy of the stored slide file used in a slide presentation document. As updates are made to the stored slide file, a user of a copy of the stored slide file may be informed of and provided changes made to the original slide file via the synchronization relationship.
