A respirator includes a head unit configured to be received on a human head and a purifying unit configured to provide purified air to the head unit. The purifying unit includes a first housing portion having an interior side defining a blower cavity, an exterior side defining a partial filter chamber with a filter sealing surface, and an inlet hole circumscribed by the sealing surface and extending between the interior and exterior sides. A second housing portion has an interior side defining a blower cavity. The first and second housings are attached to each other to form a housing such that the blower cavities are opposite each other to define a blower chamber within the housing. A blower is disposed in the blower chamber. A filter covers over the inlet hole and is disposed against the sealing surface such that air entering the hole passes through the filter.

A cold ambient battery chilling mode of an electric vehicle may be implemented if the vehicle battery is being charged when the ambient air temperature is low and a temperature of the battery is elevated. During cold ambient charging, coolant flows through a heater core and through a battery heat exchanger. Cold ambient air may be utilized to cool the coolant flowing through the heater core, and coolant from the heater core flows through the battery heat exchanger and cools the battery during charging. A battery chiller may be deactivated when the cold ambient battery chilling mode is activated to reduce energy consumption.

A dual zone auxiliary climate control system for a vehicle includes an evaporator, a heater core having a first zone and a second zone, a first zone mode door downstream from the first zone of the heater core, a second zone mode door downstream from the second zone of the heater core and a blower. The blower forces air through the evaporator and the heater core toward the first zone mode door and the second zone mode door. A method of providing a dual zone auxiliary climate control system is also disclosed.

An air duct system for passing an air flow emanating from an air outlet to a measurement device for detecting parameter measurement values for at least one parameter of the air flow, includes at least one collecting unit for collecting the air flow emanating from the air outlet. That one collecting unit can be disposed on the air outlet so that a contact surface of the collecting unit encloses at least one outlet opening of the air outlet circumferentially. The collecting unit includes a wall defining a continuous air duct with an inlet end section and an outlet end section. In order to improve the measurement of the parameter of the air flow, the air duct system includes at least one measurement chamber that is communicatively connected to a section of the air duct enclosed by the inlet end section, which, as a measurement chamber that is otherwise closed relative to the surroundings, either contains at least one pressure sensor or comprises at least one connection for communicatively connecting the measurement chamber to a pressure measurement device.

A second flow channel selectively operates a first secondary airflow that exerts a first pressure on the primary airflow. A third flow channel selectively operates a second secondary airflow that exerts a second pressure on the primary airflow. The first pressure includes a positive or negative pressure, and the second pressure includes a respective negative or positive pressure.

A cross-car structure integrates an HVAC duct with a structural beam. An upper steel beam has opposing ends attached to opposite body sides. A pair of center brackets extend downward from the upper steel beam. An HVAC unit secured to a center bracket has an outlet for an air flow for ventilating a floor region. A plastic cross member has a center plate secured to the center brackets, a first hollow beam extending from the center plate to one steel beam end, and a second hollow beam extending from the center plate to the other steel beam end. Each hollow beam has an in-board opening fluidically coupled to the HVAC outlet and at least one floor outlet directed toward the floor region thereby providing a respective HVAC duct between the outlet of the HVAC unit and each of the floor outlets.

Each vehicle in a fleet comprises a climate controller having an auto mode. The auto mode controls climate actuators in response to a model relating sensed climate conditions to respective settings for the actuators. The vehicle has a buffer memory periodically storing sample vectors comprised of actuator/operation settings and sensed climate conditions. A user interface in the vehicle is responsive to a user override commands to modify respective operation settings while in auto mode. Each vehicle has a wireless communication system for sending data packages to a remote server when the user generates the override. Each data package is comprised of a plurality of stored sample vectors and an identification of the override command A central database associated with the remote server receives the data packages from the fleet vehicles in order to identify patterns within the received vectors that are associated with any given override command
