A multi-antenna system includes: a server; a first antenna group, provided on a base station and including multiple first antennas including a first representative antenna and a first non-representative antenna, the base station performing intra-group channel estimation to obtain and transmit to the server multiple first inner channel estimation coefficients between the first representative antenna and the first non-representative antenna, and serving a user device; and a reference device, communicating with the server and the first antennas, performing channel estimation between the reference device and the first representative antenna to obtain and transmit to the server multiple first outer channel estimation coefficients between the reference device and the first representative antenna. The server calculates a precoding matrix according to the first inner and first outer channel estimation coefficients, and the base station performs data transmission with the user device according to the precoding matrix.

Multi-antenna system and channel calibration method thereof

A base station includes a processing unit, a plurality of radio frequency units, a plurality of antenna units, a control unit and an adjustment unit. The processing unit generates a baseband signal and provides a control strategy. The radio frequency units receive the baseband signal to generate a plurality of radio frequency signals. The antenna units transmit a plurality of output signals. The control unit receives the control strategy and generates a plurality of control signals according to the control strategy. The adjustment unit receives the radio frequency signals and the control signals, switches the connection of RF paths with high-gain or low-gain between the radio frequency units and the antenna units and adjusts gains of the radio frequency signals according to the control signals, so as to generate the output signals.

A wireless access method for a communication system is provided. The wireless access method is adapted to a base station, and includes the following steps. A first control information is transmitted through a first frequency band. A second control information is transmitted through a second frequency band. The time difference between the transmission time points of the first control information and the second control information is less than a slot time, and the first frequency band is different from the second frequency band.

The disclosure provides a transceiver of a communication system using hybrid beamforming and performing an antenna calibration method. In an exemplary embodiment in accordance with the disclosure, the transceiver may generate a plurality of scrambling sequences. The transceiver may comprise a plurality of coupling circuits to receive a feedback signal. The transceiver may use the plurality of scrambling sequences to recover the transmit signals output by the antenna elements from the feedback signal. Thus, the transmitter may perform antenna calibration for each antenna element.

The disclosure provides a transmitter of a communication system using hybrid digital/analog beamforming and configured to perform digital pre-distortion (DPD). In an exemplary embodiment in accordance with the disclosure, the transmitter may generate a plurality of scrambling sequences. The communication system includes an intelligent antenna unit which includes a plurality of antennas, an antenna selecting unit, one or more signal processing units and a control unit. The control unit is configured to: set one or more antenna-sectors from the antennas, each of the antenna-sectors includes one or more antennas selected from the antennas. And set a plurality of antenna-sector configurations, each of the antenna-sector configurations includes one or more sectors configured to the signal processing units, wherein the sectors are selected from the antenna-sectors. The control unit selects one of the antenna-sector configurations to operate communication transmission of a user equipment, and each signal processing unit configured to each sector of the selected antenna-sector configuration operating beam sweeping based on a number of antenna beam deployed to the configured each sector.

Communication system and operating method thereof

A communication system and an operating method thereof are provided. The communication system includes at least one user equipment, at least one remote radio head (RRH), a measuring unit, a set determining unit and an antenna selecting unit. The RRH is electrically connected to a plurality of antennas. The measuring unit is for controlling a measurement of a signal strength of the at least one user equipment. The set determining unit is used for selecting one of a plurality of antenna configuration sets according to the signal strength for the at least one user equipment. Each of the antenna configuration sets includes a plurality of antenna configurations. Each of the antenna configurations is composed of P of a plurality of antennas. A precoding method in a multi-antenna system includes the following steps. A reference device transmits a first reference signal to base station antennas. A base station calculates uplink channel information and transmits it to a coordination server. The base station transmits a second reference signal to the reference device. The reference device calculates downlink channel information and transmits it to the coordination server. The coordination server performs the following steps: calculate carrier frequency offsets (CFO) between base stations according to the uplink channel information; calculate channel calibration coefficients according to the CFO, the uplink channel information, and the downlink channel information; calculate a first downlink channel at a first time point according to a user equipment's first uplink channel and the channel calibration coefficients; use a prediction function to predict a second downlink channel at a second time point; generate a precoder according to the second downlink channel.

Multi-antenna system and precoding method thereof

A wireless communication device with hybrid beamforming and a control method thereof are provided. The wireless communication device includes a plurality of antennas, a beamforming digital circuit, a plurality of radio frequency (RF) chains, a beamforming analog circuit, a controller and a storage. The RF chains receive signals processed by the beamforming digital circuit to generate antenna signals. The RF chains are connected to a part or all of the antennas through the beamforming analog circuit to transmit the antenna signal to the corresponding antennas. The number of the RF chains is smaller than the number of the antennas. The storage stores a plurality of candidate analog codebooks. The controller selects one of the candidate analog codebooks as a selected analog codebook according to scenario or environmental information, and adjusts the beamforming analog circuit according to the selected analog codebook.

The disclosure is directed to an OFDM receiver with a low-resolution ADC and an electronic device thereof. According to one of the exemplary embodiments, the OFDM receiver may include not limited to: an ADC module which receives a transmission signal of a channel in an analog format and digitizes the transmission signal into a digital format to generate a quantized transmission signal; an error compensating and estimating module which is coupled to the ADC module, receives the quantized transmission signal and a feedback signal which is a first estimated time-domain transmission signal to generate an estimated error signal according to a turbo iterative updating technique; and a signal estimating module which is coupled to the error compensating and estimating module, receives the estimated error signal and a channel attenuation coefficient of the channel to generate an estimated transmission signal.

A method for setting modes of data transmission, adapted to the base station device provided. The method includes steps of: receiving a signal quality indicator and a value of interference cancellation capability from a terminal device; obtaining a power difference according to the signal quality indicator by subtracting a reception power of the terminal device from a transmission power of the terminal device; comparing the power difference with the value of interference cancellation capability, and setting the terminal device as a first type terminal device only allowed to apply half duplex transmission or a second type terminal device allowed to apply full duplex transmission according to the comparison result.

The present disclosure discloses a receiver device, including receiving antennas, radio frequency receivers, a configurable precision analog-to-digital converter, a switch device, a baseband processor, and an analog-to-digital controller. The switch device converts a first number of baseband analog signals into a second number of baseband analog signals. The configurable precision analog-to-digital converter converts the second number of baseband analog signals into a third number of first baseband digital signals. The configurable precision analog-to-digital converter combines at least two of first analog-to-digital converters into at least one second analog-to-digital converter so that the total number of the rest of the first analog-to-digital converters and the at least one second analog-to-digital converters is equal to the third number. The resolution of each of the second analog-to-digital converters is higher than the resolution of each of the first analog-to-digital converters.

An antenna apparatus and a method for controlling an antenna array are provided. The method includes the following steps. A plurality of selectable antenna configurations is provided for a directional service. One of the antenna configurations is selected for an antenna element of the antenna array according to a service criterion. The antenna apparatus includes an antenna array, a controller, and a switching unit. The antenna array includes a plurality of antenna elements. The controller is adapted to generate a control signal based on selecting one of a plurality of antenna configurations according to a service criterion for an antenna element to provide a directional service.
