A brake device of a robot arm utilizes a brake disc whose diameter is much larger than a diameter of a ratchet for increasing a contacting area of the brake disc, so as to generate a greater friction force. The brake device further utilizes a combining pin, a combining plate, and a plurality of guiding pins for transferring a rotating torque to the brake device having a larger diameter, so as to extend a moment arm of the friction force and generate a greater moment, which reduces a prepressing force and extends life of the brake device.

An encoded calibrating plate is fixed on the working environment of the robot arm and has a chessboard pattern with each square in the chessboard pattern being an encoding. The encoding indicates direction or position on the encoded calibration plate. The method includes following steps: loading an optical disc when the voltage of the limit switch is at a high level, completing the disc loading process when the voltage is changed to a low level, sampling the voltage of the limit switch predetermined times when the voltage is changed to the high level again, detecting the sampling voltages, completing the disc ejecting process when the sampling voltages are all at the high level, and determining a voltage bouncing to maintain the disc loaded status to avoid disc ejection misjudgment of the optical disc drive when the sampling voltages are not all at the high level.

A slot-in optical disk drive with lifting ejection device is disclosed. A sliding device which has a first guiding slot and a second guiding slot is driven by a transmission unit. A sliding bolt protruded from a traverse is inserted into the first guiding slot, and the traverse connects with the sliding device. A lifting ejection device has a column vertically set in a housing and a sleeve which covers the column. A guiding pin protruded from the sleeve is inserted into the second guiding slot and is driven by the sliding device to disengage an optical disk.

A slim optical disk drive includes a lower housing, a tray, a protection plate, a flexible cable and an isolated part. The tray is supported by two slide rails for sliding in or sliding out of an opening of the lower housing. The protection plate is for covering a bottom of the tray. The flexible cable includes a plurality of wires. The flexible cable extends toward the opening and is stuck on the lower housing. A curved area is formed by bending the flexible cable near the opening. The flexible cable is accommodated between the protection plate and the lower housing when the tray is slid inside the lower housing. The isolated part is disposed on the protection plate. The isolated part is for shielding predetermined wires of the plurality of the wires to reduce noise of signals.

An optical disc clamping device is provided. A driving bar is moved away from a center hole to synchronously drive a first linking bar and a second linking bar. A first pivotal rod and a second pivotal rod are respectively driven by the first slider and the second slider to move towards the center hole to drive a carrier which carries a chucking disk disposed thereon to contact a spindle motor. A suppresser is fixed at the rim of the center hole to press on the chucking disk to clamp the disc stably.

The invention provides a method for ejecting an optical disk and a related ejection device for a slot-in disk drive. The ejection device includes a block disposed on a contact end of an unloading bar. The block stretches out of the contact end of the unloading bar along a longitudinal direction of the unloading bar for pushing a small size optical disk so that a distance between a center of the small size optical disk and a contact end of a loading bar exceeds a predetermined distance. When the small size optical disk is unloaded, the unloading bar backs to an initial position, the slot-in disk drive idles to load and unload the small size optical disk continuously for pushing the small size optical disk outwardly further.

Ejection device for ejecting an optical disk and related method

The invention provides a protection cover of a pick-up head provided on a traverse of an optical drive. A plate flatly is positioned on an upper surface of the traverse, and the plate has a slot, with one end of the slot fastened to a spindle motor to clamp a disc and the other end of the slot forming a staying part for the pick-up head to stay in a stand-by mode. The pick-up head is disposed in the slot and has an objective lens. When the objective lens stays in the staying part out of a periphery of a 12-cm disc, the protection cover crosses over the staying part to protect the objective lens.

A protection device of a slot-in optical disk drive is provided. The protection device is disposed between two linking parts of the slot-in optical disk drive. One of the two linking parts is formed with a slot, and the other one of the two linking parts is connected to an upper end of a guide pin. A lower end of the guide pin protrudes and is inserted into the slot, and a portion of the guide pin corresponding to a side of the slot is formed with a notch. As the notch engages with the slot, the situation that the guide pin slides out of the slot can be avoided.

A slot-in type disk drive fastens a clamping unit with two protrusions around its periphery on the central hole of a base plate. A front positioning part utilizes a stick to link a front right positioning bar and a front left positioning bar to synchronously open or close. A locking rod has a limiting pin inserted into an arc slot on the side of the base plate, and protrudes a locking end from the rear end. A rear positioning part utilizes an idle gear to link rear right and rear left positioning bars to synchronously open or close. The locking end can insert a first or second positioning recess on the rear left positioning bar and a touch block of the locking rod leans against the first protrusion. A lever is disposed on the rear right positioning bar to link a linkage plate set by one end.

A slot-in optical disk drive includes a power unit to drive a sliding component to rotate a loading bar, so as to process loading procedure of the slot-in optical disk drive. A base covers on a main board disposed on a rear side of a casing of the slot-in optical disk drive. A first linking bar is pivoted to a center of the base. An end of the first linking bar is driven by the sliding component, and a haul slot is for driving a right positioning bar. The other end of the first linking bar is pivoted to a second linking bar of the base. The second linking bar is for driving the unloading bar pivoted to the base. The end of the unloading bar is close to a lateral side of the casing, so as to keep away from a breach on the base.

The invention provides a protection device for protecting a flat cable in an optical disk drive. The protection device includes a casing, whereon a main board is fixed inside the casing, and an opening is formed at a front edge of the casing. The protection device further includes a tray disposed inside the casing in a slidable manner, a circuit board disposed on a bottom of the tray, the flat cable connected to the main board and the circuit board, a cover disposed on the bottom of the tray, and a support frame connected to the cover and protruding towards a rear of the casing. The support frame is disposed on the bottom of the tray and adjacent to a position, where the flat cable is connected to the circuit board, for holding the flat cable and preventing the flat cable from dropping.

The invention provides an emergency ejection device for a slot-in disk drive, which rotates a worm gear by a motor. A central hole of a rotating component is fixed on a housing. A sliding slot is formed on an end of the rotating component, and a buckling slot is formed on an end of the sliding slot. A first gear of a gear set fixed on the central hole of the rotating component is engaged with the worm gear. A clutching gear fixed on the other end of the rotating component is engaged with the first gear. An end of a locking component inserts inside the sliding slot, and an inclined surface protrudes from the other end of the locking component. A spring provides an elastic force for holding the sliding column inside the buckling slot so as to keep engagement of the clutching gear with a second gear.

Emergency ejection device for a slot-in disk drive

A method and device for protecting slot-in optical disc drive are provided. A first sensing switch is for detecting the action of an unloading unit, a second sensing switch is for detecting the action of a receiving unit, and a third sensing switch is for detecting the action of a positioning bar. A disc is inserted as the optical disc drive is at the initial state, and the states of the first, second and third sensing switches are detected. The transmission unit is activated to automatically load the disc as all sensing switches are turned on, and whether the state of the third sensing switch changes is checked. When the state of the third sensing switch changes, the extraction of the disc is detected, so the transmission unit is immediately reversed to execute the unloading of the disc, so as to protect the optical disc drive.
