A post-processing apparatus includes a tray receiving an ejected recording medium, a moving mechanism vertically moving the tray, a driving source driving the moving mechanism, a member pressing, from vertically above, a recording medium ejected to the tray, a rotational-driving mechanism driving the member so that the member rotates in a first direction away from an apparatus body when the tray is moved upward by the moving mechanism and that the member rotates in a second direction toward the apparatus body when the tray is moved downward by the moving mechanism, a rotation-angle limiting unit limiting a rotation angle of the member when the member is driven to rotate in the first direction and to rotate in the second direction, and a rotational-force limiting mechanism idling when a rotational force not lower than a predetermined force is applied to the rotational-driving mechanism.

Post-processing apparatus and image forming apparatus

A post-processing apparatus includes a storing unit in which plural recording media are stored for performing post-processing, and a pushing member that latches onto and pushes trailing ends of the recording media stored in the storing unit toward an ejection port. When the number of the recording media stacked on the storing unit is small, the pushing member latches onto and pushes the trailing ends of the recording media at a position different from a position at which the pushing member latches onto and pushes the trailing ends of the recording media when the number of the recording media stacked on the storing unit is large.

Post-processing apparatus

A sheet transport device includes first to third rotating members, a sheet position detector, and a controller. The first member transports a sheet at a first speed. The second member transports the sheet at a second speed that is lower than the first speed. The third member in a stopped state receives the sheet and subsequently resumes transporting to perform positional correction thereon. The detector detects positions of leading and trailing edges of the sheet. The controller performs control such that, when a preset time elapses after the detector detects that the leading edge has reached the third member, the third member is caused to resume transporting at the second speed, and when the detector detects that the leading edge has passed the second member, the third member is increased in speed from the second speed to the first speed.
