A lighting device and a lighting unit comprising a reflector and a lighting device, or LED lamp are described. The LED lamp have a first and a second LED assembly. Each LED assembly comprises at least one LED element with an LED chip and a carrier with a flat surface for carrying the LED chip. The LED chip emits light with a main optical direction. The first and second LED assembly are mounted relative to each other so that at least a first LED element from the first LED assembly and a second LED element from the second LED assembly enclose a rotating angle (&#x3b3;) between their respective flat surfaces with respect to an axis of rotation (A) so as to involve light angle between the first and second main optical directions. The axis of rotation (A) is parallel to a plane of a flat carrier surface of at least one LED element. The first and second LED assemblies are arranged offset from each other parallel to the axis of rotation (A). Thus, a lighting device with small dimensions and advantageous light distribution is obtained.

The invention relates to a reinforcement device () for a catch element () of a lighting device socket (), said catch element () comprising a plurality of catch flanges () for engaging with the base () of a lighting device () when said lighting device () is pushed in said lighting device socket (), said catch flanges () extending perpendicularly to the lighting device socket plane. The reinforcement device () comprises a ring () and bracing means () integral with said ring () and capable of bracing at least one catch flange () of said catch element () against the base () of a lighting device when a lighting device () is positioned in said lighting device socket (). An automotive lighting system () is described with a signal emitting device () installed in a lamp socket (). The lamp socket () is connected to a lighting connection () of a vehicle (). The signal emitting device () emits a signal if the lighting connection () is energized. A lighting module () is connected to an electrical power supply () of the vehicle (). The lighting module () comprises a receiver (), a control unit () and a light source (). The control unit () is disposed to operate the light source () in a first mode if a signal is received in the receiver, and in a second mode if the signal is not received.

A lighting system comprising an electrical lamp () having an electrical lamp connector (), a holder () having a front electrical connector adapted to be back-connected to a power supply and a cap () to interface the electrical lamp and the holder, said cap extending along a mounting direction between a top side for receiving the lamp connector and an opposite bottom side for receiving the holder connector, and having axial holes extending between the bottom side and the top side for receiving within at least a part of an electrical cap connector able to electrically connect the lamp connector with the holder connector once the lighting assembly is assembled. The cap further comprises a cap guide and the holder further comprises a holder guide, said cap guide and holder guide being adapted to cooperate with one another by fitting in the mounting direction, such that any significant motion of the cap into directions perpendicular to the mounting direction is prevented by the holder guide, ensuring a positioning step of the cap with respect to the holder before an electrical contacting step of the cap connector with the holder connector.

Lighting system and cap for such lighting system

An automotive lamp includes a translucent bulb containing a light source and a cap that surrounds a portion of the bulb such that it engages the bulb by a click connection. The lamp includes a connection member for connecting the lamp to a lamp holder. The connection member is non-detachably connected to the cap, for example, by an ultrasonic welding operation, and locks the click connection.
