An electrosurgical generator for generating a high-frequency AC voltage for an electrosurgical instrument, having a high-voltage inverter that generates and outputs a high-frequency AC voltage. A filter having a parallel capacitor is on an output line. A measuring sensor circuit having a current divider, which has a capacitive coupling to a series-connected shunt as bypass with respect to the parallel capacitor, and having a voltage detection circuit connected to the shunt. The shunt has a considerably lower impedance than the capacitive coupling. This gives rise to a proportional ratio between the current flowing through the parallel capacitor on the output line of the electrosurgical generator and the current through the shunt. This current is converted into a voltage, which is detected. The current at the output of the inverter is determined quickly and accurately thanks to the proportional relationship. This may be used for feedback and improved monitoring and regulation.

Electrosurgical generator having an inverter

An electrosurgical generator for providing different high-frequency alternating voltages/high-frequency alternating currents includes at least two outputs to which an electrosurgical instrument is or can be connected, at least one high-frequency voltage source, and at least two output transformers connected on the primary side to the high-frequency voltage source and on the secondary side to the outputs for an electrosurgical instrument, wherein both the primary windings of the output transformers can be interconnected via switches and the secondary windings of the output transformers can be interconnected via switches.

Electrosurgical generator

A high-frequency generator connects an electrosurgical instrument, including an electrical output connection point for an electrosurgical instrument, a power supply, which is at least indirectly connected to the output connection point, and a power controller for controlling the electrical output power output via the output connection point. The power controller is designed to begin the output of an electrical output power when an output energy balance amount is greater than an output energy limit value and to end the output of the electrical output power when the output energy balance amount falls below a minimum value.

High-frequency generator, control unit, method for operating a high-frequency generator

An electrosurgical generator supplies, during operation, a high-frequency alternating current to an electrosurgical instrument for plasma cutting of body tissue. The electrosurgical generator has outputs for connecting an electrosurgical instrument to supply an electrosurgical instrument connected to the outputs with a high-frequency alternating current, and for determining the impedance of a load connected to the outputs. The electrosurgical generator features impedance and voltage measuring units as well as an output voltage control unit. The output voltage control unit is designed to control the AC output voltage depending on a maximum output voltage value that is set during operation depending on an output value of the impedance measuring unit and/or depending on an output value of the voltage measuring unit, such that the maximum output voltage value predefines a lower AC output voltage during a vaporization phase than during an ignition phase occurring subsequently to the vaporization phase.

Electrosurgical generator, electrosurgical system, and method of operating an electrosurgical generator

An electrosurgical generator with a high-voltage power supply that supplies a DC output voltage receives the DC output voltage of the high-voltage power supply and generates a high-frequency AC output voltage. When generator is operating, a control unit receives signals from an AC output voltage measuring unit and current measuring unit. The control unit limits an increase of DC output voltage of the high-voltage power supply as soon one predefined maximum value is reached or exceeded. When the generator is operating, the control unit configured to receive signals from a DC output voltage measuring unit that represent a respective current value of the DC output voltage, and to compare a respective current value of DC output voltage with a predefined minimum value for DC output voltage, and to cause the DC output voltage of the high-voltage power supply to increase as soon as it falls below the predefined minimum value.
