Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Generally, the described techniques at a user equipment (UE) provide for efficiently identifying a dormancy state of a secondary cell (SCell) configured for communications with a base station. A UE may be configured with a duration of time for which an SCell is to be in an indicated dormancy state. Accordingly, when the UE receives an indication of a dormancy state for an SCell, the UE may determine that the SCell is in the indicated dormancy state for the duration of time. The UE may also be configured with a default dormancy state of the SCell. Thus, after the duration of time expires, the UE may determine that the SCell is in the default dormancy state (e.g., the UE may fall back to the default dormancy of the SCell after the duration of time expires).

Configuration for secondary cell dormancy indications

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive a first packet and a second packet for transmission during a period for a periodic application. The UE may transmit the first packet and the second packet in a combination of a dynamic grant and a configured grant occasion. In some aspects, a network entity may receive a first packet and a second packet for transmission. The network entity may transmit the first packet and the second packet in a combination of a dynamic grant and a semi-persistent scheduling occasion. Numerous other aspects are described.

Semi-persistent scheduling activation and deactivation

This disclosure provides systems, devices, apparatus, and methods, including computer programs encoded on storage media, for retransmission and selection of HARQ and MCS based on partial sensing. A UE may perform a partial sensing procedure to identify one or more available resources for a sidelink transmission of the UE and transmit the sidelink transmission on a resource selected from the one or more available resources. The sidelink transmission may include at least one of a HARQ retransmission parameter or an MCS selected for the sidelink transmission based on at least one of a number of candidate slots for the partial sensing procedure, a quantity of the one or more available resources within the number of candidate slots, or a number of times that a threshold for a minimum amount of the one or more available resources is increased.

Retransmission and selection of HARQ and MCS based on partial sensing

A UE may be configured to detect an occurrence of a beam failure condition for a failed downlink transmission received from a network entity using a first beam. The UE may transmit, over a sidelink to a second UE, a BFR in response to detecting the beam failure condition. The UE may receive, over the sidelink from the second UE or from the network entity, a beam switching instruction to switch from the first beam to a second beam. The UE may receive, from the network entity, a retransmission of the failed downlink transmission using the second beam.

Beam failure recovery with a relay device

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive, from a network entity via an access link, control signaling indicating a beam condition reporting configuration for reporting an access link beam condition to the network entity via a relay UE. The UE may detect the access link beam condition for the access link in accordance with the beam condition reporting configuration. The UE may transmit via a sidelink to the relay UE, a beam condition report to the relay UE that indicates to relay the beam condition report to the network entity. Additionally, the UE may transmit the beam condition report to the network entity.

Multi-path beam failure reporting techniques

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A first user equipment (UE) may receive a control signal that indicates one or more parameters for a beam failure reporting procedure. The beam failure reporting procedure may be associated with a multi-path wireless connection for the first UE, which may include a first link between the first UE and a network entity and a second link between the first UE and a second UE. The first UE may monitor, as part of a multi-path beam failure recovery procedure, the first link for one or more signals associated with beam failure detection based on receiving the control signal. The first UE may transmit, via the first link or the second link, one or more messages in accordance with the beam failure reporting procedure based on monitoring. The one or more messages may include information associated with the one or more parameters.

Utilization of secondary link for beam failure warning and recovery

Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for signaling a user equipment (UE) to put a sidelink (SL) component carrier (CC) into dormancy or take the SL CC out of dormancy, such as mode 1 or mode 2 sidelink communications. In one example, a method performed by a UE includes receiving an indication to put a first CC into dormancy; and putting an SL CC into a dormant state in response to the indication. In another example, a method includes transmitting an indication that the first UE will put an SL CC into a dormant state; and receiving an acknowledgment (ACK) of the indication.

Dormancy indication in sidelink communication systems

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a first user equipment (UE) may establish, with a second UE, a first sidelink associated with a first layer 2 (L2) identifier of the second UE and a second sidelink associated with a second L2 identifier of the second UE, wherein the first L2 identifier is different than the second L2 identifier. The first UE may receive an indication associating the second UE with the first L2 identifier and the second L2 identifier. Numerous other aspects are described.

Indications associating layer 2 identifiers with a user equipment for sidelink

This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for a user equipment (UE) entering a dormant state with respect to a secondary cell group (SCG) of a node network (SN) having a primary serving cell (PSCell). In one aspect, the UE may maintain a parameter set for at least the PSCell while the UE is in the dormant state with respect to the SCG. For example, the UE may receive a parameter change message from either the SN or a master network (MN) and transmit a parameter change acknowledgment to either the SN or the MN. The parameter change message may be transmitted as one or both of a downlink control information (DCI) or media access control (MAC) control element (CE). The UE may transmit physical layer measurements to the SN based on the parameter set.

User equipment (UE) physical layer measurement reporting in secondary cell group (SCG) dormancy

In an aspect, a UE receives, while a secondary cell group (SCG) is associated with a dormant state, at least one downlink transmit beam associated with at least one cell of the SCG. The UE determines, while the SCG is associated with the dormant state, an uplink transmit beam for a primary secondary cell (PSCell) of the SCG based on one or more of a spatial relation indication (SRI), whether there is beam correspondence between the at least one downlink transmit beam and the uplink transmit beam, a default uplink transmit beam, or a combination thereof. The UE transmits a signal related to a measurement between the UE and the one or more SCells of the SCG on the determined uplink transmit beam.

Beam management for a secondary cell group in a dormant state

Aspects presented herein may improve the latency and efficiency of L1/L2 inter-cell mobility. In one aspect, a UE receives a configuration for a set of cells associated with a mobility of the UE, where the set of cells includes an SpCell and an SCell, where the set of cells includes a first subset of activated cells and a second subset of deactivated cells, and where at least one first cell of the set of cells is a reference cell and one or more second cells of the set of cells are associated with the reference cell. The UE receives an indication of an updated configuration for the set of cells based on a movement of the UE, where the indication of the updated configuration is received from the network entity, where the updated configuration includes at least one new cell in the set of cells.

Delta signaling of cell configuration for inter-cell mobility

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. For example, the described techniques provide for performing and reporting suitable measurements, at a first user equipment (UE), on reference signals from relay UEs to determine which relay UEs to activate or deactivate for relaying communications for the first UE. The first UE may be configured to perform measurements on deactivated relay UEs, and the first UE may report these measurements (or other measurements) when one or more events are triggered. The events may depend on the measurements performed on the deactivated relay UEs. Once the events are triggered, the first UE may report the measurements, and a second UE or a network entity may use the measurements to efficiently determine which relay UEs to activate or deactivate for relaying communications for the first UE.

Sidelink measurement reporting for sidelink relays

A user equipment (UE) may transmit a first set of reference signals via a primary sidelink carrier of a sidelink carrier aggregation configuration and a second set of reference signals via one or more secondary sidelink carriers of the sidelink carrier aggregation configuration. The UE may receive, based on the reference signals, a measurement message indicating measurements for a set of beams corresponding to a secondary sidelink carrier of the sidelink carrier aggregation configuration based on a beam failure instance for the primary sidelink carrier. The UE may transmit, via Layer 1 signaling or Layer 2 signaling, a control message indicating to switch the primary sidelink carrier to the set of beams based on the measurements for the set of beams and the beam failure instance for the primary sidelink carrier.

Methods, apparatuses, and computer-readable storage medium for extending DRX ON duration are provided. An example method includes identifying a predicted BFD within a DRX OFF duration associated with a configured DRX.
