Medical device loading apparatuses, systems, methods and kits are described. A loading apparatus comprises a main body having a passageway. The passageway has a first inner diameter, a second inner diameter, and a transition chamber. An expandable intraluminal medical device can be loaded into a delivery catheter using the loading apparatus by placing the device into the passageway and pushing the device along an axial path.

Example implantable tissue anchors, kits that include an implantable tissue anchor, and associated methods are described. An example implantable tissue anchor is moveable between a first, expanded configuration and a second, compressed configuration. The implantable tissue anchor has a first end, a second end, and a main body. The main body defines a first arm, a second arm, a first plurality of recesses on the first arm, a first plurality of barbs on the first arm, a second plurality of recess on the second arm, and a second plurality of barbs on the second arm. The first arm and the second arm define a first closed loop and a first passageway that extends through the main body when the implantable tissue anchor is in the first, expanded configuration.

Implantable tissue anchors, kits that include a tissue anchor, and related methods of treatment

Medical device loading apparatuses, systems, methods and kits are described. A loading apparatus comprises a main body having a proximal end defining a proximal opening, a distal end defining a distal opening, and a passageway extending between the proximal and distal openings. The passageway defines a proximal chamber having a first inner diameter, a distal chamber having a second inner diameter, and a transition chamber disposed between the proximal and distal chambers. The transition chamber has an inner diameter that transitions from the larger second inner diameter to the smaller first inner diameter. The main body has a separable connection that divides the main body between proximal and distal portions when disrupted. An expandable intraluminal medical device can be loaded into a delivery catheter using the loading apparatus by placing the device into the passageway such that it is in a radially-expanded configuration; pulling the device along an axial path through the loading apparatus such that the device transitions from the radially-expanded configuration to a radially-compressed configuration; and pushing the radially-compressed device along the axial path into the delivery catheter.

A medical device for stone management comprises a catheter comprising a proximal end, a distal end, and a first lumen and a second lumen disposed therethrough. A handle assembly is interconnected with the proximal end of the catheter, the handle assembly comprising a body defining an interior cavity, a first section and a second section. An interior passageway is disposed within the interior cavity and in fluid communication with the first lumen of the catheter. A valve assembly interconnected with the interior passageway. An actuator assembly is engaged with the valve assembly, the actuator having a first position and a second position. A vacuum port is in communication with the interior passageway and positioned on the second section of the handle. The second section of the handle forms an angle with respect to the first section of the handle.

A steerable catheter having a hub with a control feature includes a semi-rigid catheter with the hub attached at the proximal end. The distal end of the catheter includes a distal tip and a flexible portion adjacent the distal tip. The catheter includes a working channel, and further includes a channel through which a tension member or wire extends to the distal tip. Tension in the wire causes the distal tip to deflect and be steered. The hub includes a fixed member attached to the catheter, an inner member that moves axially relative to the fixed member, and an outer member that rotates relative to the inner member and the fixed member. Rotation of the outer member results in translation of the inner member, which is attached to the tension member and provides for controlled steering of the distal tip.

The present embodiments provide strain relief members for a medical device delivery system, methods of use thereof, and methods of manufacturing. In one embodiment a strain relief member may include a support having a first end with a first outer diameter, a second end having a second outer diameter, an inner surface facing a support lumen that extends axially through the support along a longitudinal axis, and an outer surface opposite to the inner surface. An embodiment may also include an overlay coupled to a portion of the outer surface of the support, where the overlay comprises a first material and the support comprises a second material, and the first material is more flexible than the second material. A liner may be disposed in a portion of the support lumen and a first connector disposed over a portion of the support.

Strain relief and methods of use thereof

A control for an endoscope includes a housing defining an interior volume. A lever external to the housing extends through the housing into the interior volume. A gear system positioned in the interior volume is operatively coupled to the lever. The gear system includes a first quadrant and a second quadrant each configured to pivot about a corresponding axis to deflect a flexible distal tip portion of the endoscope in a corresponding direction.

A method of making a side-to-side anastomosis includes making first and second holes through a first vessel, and second vessel, respectively, by receiving a jaw of a punch tool into exposed ends of the respective vessels, and then moving a punch tool toward the jaw and through the wall of the vessel. The vessels are joined with an elongate eyelet with a passage that matches a shape of the oval first and second holes. The long axes of the oval holes are oriented parallel to a longitudinal axes of the respective vessels.

Hand-operated suction and irrigation medical devices are provided. An example medical device comprises a housing having a proximal end and a distal end. The housing defines first and second inlet paths and an outlet path. A first tubular member is partially disposed within the first inlet path and a second tubular member is partially disposed within the second inlet path. Each of the first and second tubular members extends from the proximal end of the housing. A third tubular member is partially disposed within the outlet path and extends from the distal end of the housing. A control member is slidably disposed on the housing and is movable between a first, proximal position and a second, distal position. A passageway provides fluid communication between the first inlet path and an opening to an environment external to the housing such that covering the opening provides control over the flow of fluid through the first inlet path and the first tubular member.

A stent assembly includes a framework having a tubular rest shape that defines a longitudinal axis, has an external surface that defines an expanded perimeter, and an internal surface that defines a passageway. The framework has a folded shape with a cross section perpendicular to the longitudinal axis that fits in a closed shape having a perimeter that is smaller than the expanded perimeter. The stent assembly has a constrained configuration characterized by the framework being held in the folded shape by a trigger wire supporting sheer stress by being in contact with interlaced loops of the framework. The stent assembly has an unconstrained configuration characterized by the framework being in the tubular rest shape with the trigger wire out of contact with the framework.

A device for use with a uterine tamponade apparatus, such as the Bakri&#xae; postpartum hemorrhage balloon, is disclosed. The device comprises an anchor for deployment within the vagina to securely retain the balloon in its proper position within the uterine cavity, allowing the balloon to function as intended for the control and management of postpartum hemorrhage and uterine bleeding. Methods of use of the vaginal anchor are also disclosed.

Vaginal positioner for uterine tamponade device and methods of using the same

A device for use with a uterine tamponade balloon catheter apparatus, such as the Bakri postpartum hemorrhage balloon, is disclosed. The device comprises a stylet comprising a hub at its proximal end. The device is configured to be removably coupled to the tamponade balloon catheter apparatus to aid in the insertion and positioning of the tamponade balloon catheter within the uterine cavity, allowing the balloon to function as intended for the control and management of postpartum hemorrhage and uterine bleeding. Methods of use of the device are also disclosed.

Disclosed is a multi-lumen mixing device that includes a first and second lumen constructed and arranged to separately pass a first and second reagent to a mixing chamber in the device, where the mixing chamber includes a mixing feature that mixes the first and second reagents. The disclosed multi-lumen mixing device may also include a port in fluid communication with the reaction mixing to permit the product of the combined reagents to be injected into a patent.
