The present application provides a unique way for storing biologics, perishables, food, drinks in a preservation and transportation system. The portable preservation system comprising a main body comprising an outer shell having at least one docking compartment and a main compartment. A cooling unit placed in the main compartment having a supply line and a return line wherein the supply line is connected to a supply manifold. At least one valve wherein the valve is connected to the supply manifold. At least one supply connection port wherein the supply connection port is coupled to at least one opposing port which supplies coolant to an external system having an inlet and outlet wherein the outlet is connected to at least one return connection port.

Systems and methods for growing microbes and biofilms on a hydrogel in a controlled environment. The system can have a cup, and a liner with the liner inserted into the cup and a hydrogel inserted into the liner. The cup, liner, and hydrogel assembly can be placed into a containment tray. The hydrogel can be sterilized before being placed into the containment tray. A lid can seal the cup, liner, and hydrogel into the containment tray. A lid can have inoculations ports, or can be made out of a self-sealable material keeping the inside environment sterilized and free of contaminants. The hydrogel can be inoculated with microbes through the inoculations ports, and incubated for a period of time at a set temperature to allow the microbes, and biofilms time to grow. After being grown the microbes and biofilms can be separated from each other allowing for both microbes and biofilm to be separately tested.

An electroacoustic portable device charger and direct power adaptor. Ultrasonic transducers transmit acoustic energy which is converted into electrical power for the purposes of charging portable device batteries. Specifically, a wireless personal data device (such as a mobile phone) charging pad is disclosed. Feedback control loop and phased piezo array steer acoustic wavefronts into receiver transducers without the threat of electromagnetic interference. Parameters are monitored to maximize power efficiency and transmission. Device cradles and covers can be retrofitted to accommodate piezo electronics or integrated therein.

Single, continuous PTFE layers having lateral zones of varied characteristics are described. Some of the lateral zone embodiments may include PTFE material having little or no nodal and fibril microstructure. Methods of manufacturing PTFE layers allow for controllable permeability and porosity of the layers, in addition to other characteristics. The characteristics may vary from one lateral zone of a PTFE layer to a second lateral zone of a PTFE layer. In some embodiments, the PTFE layers may act as a barrier layer in an endovascular graft or other medical device.
