Consistent with some embodiments of the invention, a web-based comparison shopping and marketplace service enables a user to search for and/or browse products of interest, and then obtain geographically-relevant, real-time product availability and pricing information for a product of interest that is offered by one or more physical retail stores. Additionally, with some embodiments, the service enables a user to conclude a purchase transaction for a product that is located at a retail store, and then provides the user with driving directions from the user's location to the retail store.

A system and method identify and provide content using identification entries. Product identification information for a product listing is received, and a matching identification entry is selected from a set of identification entries using the product identification information. In order to authenticate a caller, a callee generates a code, such as, an alphanumeric code that is sent to a code manager via an electronic communication channel. The generated code is for authenticating a caller in a communication session to be made by the caller to the callee. The code manager stores the code in a memory. After the communication session has been initiated from the caller to the callee and then established, the code is sent to the callee so the callee can verify the caller is authentic.

A communication device is described along with various methods and systems for controlling the same. Methods are provided that monitor audio from a local and remote audio stream when determining whether to provide a mute notification on a muted call. In general, when a mute function of a communication device is active and a user attempts to speak, the system can analyze the user's local audio stream and the call's remote audio stream to determine whether characteristics exist to provide a mute notification to the user. The system provides mechanisms for controlling false positive determinations of speaking through mute by utilizing a combination of recorded characteristics and initiated timers that can be adjusted based on determinations made.

A method and a system that identify seller ads to potential buyers within a network-based commerce system are provided. The method and system may operate to receive a request including a product identification from a seller, and assign to the seller, based on a distance function and the product identification, a matching identification entry included in a set of identification entries. The request may also include financial metrics. The method and system may further include operations to identify one or more seller ads associated with the matching identification entry, as determined by a distance measured between the matching identification entry and at least one extracted identification entry extracted from a selected content page and included in the set of identification entries. An install agent application of a target system authorizes a centralized controller to securely communicate with the target system. Techniques for providing location information describing a communication device configured to exchange telephony information over a computer network. A switching device of the computer network receives a first message according to a node-to-node communication protocol, the first message indicating that the endpoint communication device includes a configuration for a mode of operation on behalf of a telephone service account. The switching device determines from the first message an identifier of the telephone service account and sends the determined identifier in a second message via the computer network, the second message in support of a location service.
