Embodiments of extended reality (XR) methods and systems for handling home-related information are disclosed. In one embodiment, a computer-implemented method may include (1) obtaining one or more XR preferences for a party; (2) presenting, using one or more devices associated with the party instructions constructed to guide the party to move throughout or around a real property, and prompts constructed to direct the party to capture data representing one or more of the real property or belongings; (3) determining, by one or more processors processing the captured data, asset data representing one or more of the real property or the belongings; and/or (4) presenting, in a virtualized environment in accordance with the party's XR preferences via an XR device, one or more visual depictions of the determined asset data such that the party or an insurance representative can at least one of view, modify, or approve the asset data.

Extended reality methods and systems for collecting, managing, and using home-related information

Provided herein is a damage prevention and mitigation (DPM) computing device including at least one processor in communication with a memory device. The at least one processor may be configured to identify a plurality of property parameters associated with a property wherein the property parameters are associated with one of a structure and design of the property; receive, via one or more telematics sensors, property telematics data; determine one or more damage factors associated with the property, wherein each damage factor includes an aspect of the property that increases a likelihood of the property incurring some damage; and generate a damage profile for the property based upon the determined damage factors, wherein the damage profile includes at least (a) one or more recommendations to address the damage factors and mitigate the likelihood that the property will incur damage, and (b) an insurance coverage amount for the property.

Systems and methods for property damage prevention and mitigation

Provided herein is a modeling computing device including a processor in communication with a memory device. The processor is configured to: (i) retrieve, from the at least one memory device, historical data associated with a plurality of users, wherein the historical data includes historical liability amount data and historical user data, and wherein the historical user data includes at least one of historical personal information, historical vehicle telematics data, and historical environmental data, (ii) generate a model that relates the historical liability amount data and the historical user data, (iii) store the model in the at least one memory device, (iv) collect current user data associated with a candidate user, wherein the current user data includes current personal information, current vehicle telematics data, and current environmental data, and (v) analyze the collected current user data using the generated model.

The present embodiments relate to detecting instances of individuals being in peril within an independent or assisted living environment. According to certain aspects, with an individual's permission or affirmative consent, a hardware controller (such as a smart or interconnected home controller, or even a mobile device) may receive and analyze sensor data detected within the independent or assisted living environment to determine whether an individual may be in peril. In this circumstance, the hardware controller may generate a notification that indicates the situation and may communicate the notification to a proper individual, such as a family member or care giver, who may be in a position to mitigate or alleviate any risks posed by the situation. The foregoing functionality also may be used by an insurance provider to generate, update, or adjust insurance policies, premiums, rates, or discounts, and/or make recommendations to an insured individual.

Systems and methods for improved assisted or independent living environments

Systems and methods for managing the operation of devices within a home or other property based upon electrical usage data are described. With customer knowledge or consent, a home controller may retrieve and analyze electrical usage data corresponding to a device, such as by comparing it to certain threshold data. If the analysis results in a trigger condition, the controller may generate a command, and transmit the command to the device for implementation, allowing modification of device operation to address any issues indicated in the electrical usage data. The controller may notify a home owner/occupant. As a result, faulty devices may be managed prior to their faults causing damage to the device and/or the property, and/or property owners may be timely prompted to investigate, repair, and/or replace a failing device. Insurance discounts may be provided based upon the risk mitigation/prevention functionality.

Systems and methods for managing smart devices based upon electrical usage data

The described methods and systems enable automatic detection of a driver's identity based on an analysis of position or orientation data pertaining to elements of a cockpit that the driver tends to personalize when driving according to her preferences. Example position or orientation data may include data pertaining to seat or mirror position or orientation. Some of the disclosed embodiments utilize machine-learning techniques to train a machine-learning (ML) model to automatically detect or predict a driver's identity based on learned patterns (e.g., based on preferred positions or orientations the ML model has learned for the driver.) If desired, one or more embodiments may implement unsupervised learning techniques, supervised learning techniques, or both unsupervised and supervised learning techniques.

Methods and systems that manage building code compliance are provided. A smart or interconnected home may be populated with multiple smart or other devices that are in wired or wireless communication with a central controller. The smart devices may be covered by an insurance policy, such as a homeowners, renters, or personal articles insurance policy. The controller may receive building code compliance information associated with the smart devices, and may update an inventory list to include the building code compliance information. The controller may detect that one or more devices do not comply with building code requirements. The controller may transmit a notification to a customer about possible corrective actions to remedy non-compliant conditions and to facilitate building code compliance. The smart devices may be associated with appliances, electronics, wiring, pipes, ducts, or other equipment or personal belongings. Insurance discounts may be provided based upon the building code compliance functionality.

A computer-implemented method for generating an automated response to a catastrophic event, that includes (1) analyzing a sample set of data generated in association with a catastrophic event to determine a threshold pattern; (2) receiving, with customer permission or affirmative consent, home sensor data from a smart home controller via wireless communication or data transmission, the home sensor data including data regarding at least one of (i) structural status; (ii) wind speed; (iii) availability of electricity; (iv) presence of water; (v) temperature; (vi) pressure; and/or (vii) presence of pollutants in the air and/or water; (3) determining, based upon or from computer analysis of the home sensor data, whether the home sensor data indicates a match to the threshold pattern; and (4) automatically generating a response if the home sensor data indicates a match to the threshold pattern. As a result, catastrophic events and responses thereto may be improved through usage of a remote network of home sensors.

Sensor data to identify catastrophe areas

Methods and systems for generating a response to detecting a fire on a property are provided. In certain aspects, a smart home controller (or other smart controller) may analyze data received from smart devices disposed on, within, or proximate to a property. If it is determined that a fire is present on the premises of the property, the smart home controller may determine a location of the fire as compared to the smart devices. The smart home controller may then generate and transmit instructions causing a portion of the smart devices to perform a set of actions to mitigate risks associated with the presence of the fire on the property. The smart home controller may also compare the location of the fire with a location of an occupant, and generate an escape route for the occupant. Insurance policies, premiums, or discounts may be adjusted based upon the fire response/mitigation functionality.
