A system for calibrating a plurality of user sensors includes a calibration management system comprising a processor and a node services module and a plurality of calibration nodes disposed at a plurality of geographical locations. The processor is communicably coupled to the plurality of user sensors, the node services module, and the plurality of calibration nodes and operable to: provide calibration node information to a system associated with one of the plurality of user sensors and cause the calibration node to perform at least one calibration action after providing the calibration information, the calibration action may include performing an environmental measurement and/or providing a calibration reference signal to the user sensor. The processor is also operable to provide calibration results information containing results of the calibration action to the system associated with the one of the plurality of user sensors.

A field spectral radiometer includes a support structure and a remote sensing head disposed on the support structure. The remote sensing head includes a central axis, a first optical element disposed on a first side of the central axis and defining a first optical path for a first optical channel, and a second optical element disposed on a second side of the central axis and defining second optical path for a second optical channel. An instrumentation assembly disposed on the support structure. the instrumentation assembly includes a first detection path associated with the first optical channel and a second detection path associated with the second optical channel, the first and second detection path include optical indexers for manipulating the first and second optical channels. The field spectral radiometer may include a calibration assembly disposed on the base. The calibration assembly may include a calibrating light source for calibrating the remote sensing head.

A reflector array includes a base, a rotating support pivotally coupled to the base, and an array actuator comprising a rotating element coupled to the rotating support. The reflector array also includes a plurality of reflectors attached to the rotating support such that the plurality of reflectors rotate in unison in conjunction with one another relative to the base as the array actuator rotates the rotating element. First and second reflectors are coupled to the rotating support via separate reflector support elements that are rotatable to adjust elevation angles of the first and second reflectors.

A reflector array includes a support structure, a motor, a shaft operatively coupled to the motor, a free plate, and a drive plate. The free plate includes a free plate first side and a free plate second side axially opposed to the free plate first side. The free plate further may include a latching mechanism disposed on the free plate second side and a drive plate. The drive plate is rotatably coupled to the shaft. The drive plate includes a drive plate first side and a drive plate second side axially opposed to the drive plate first side. The drive plate further includes a drive plate finger coupled to the drive plate second side. The drive plate finger is configured to contact the latching mechanism in response to rotation of the driver plate. The drive plate finger is further configured to couple the drive plate to the free plate.

Systems for controlling a reflector array

An illumination system includes an illumination source configured to emit illumination light and a dispersive optical element configured to generate an angularly dispersed optical signal from the illumination light that is used to generate a spectral image. A digital micro-mirror device (DMD) includes an array of reflective elements that receive the spectral image and direct a portion of the spectral image to an integrating sphere. A controller is configured to calculate a subset of an array of reflective elements of the DMD to activate based on a target illumination output signal using a calibration model of the illumination system. The controller is also configured to activate the subset of the array of reflective elements to change the portion of the spectral image directed to the integrating sphere to generate an illumination output signal that substantially matches the target illumination output signal.

System and methods for providing a uniform and tunable hyper-spectral source

A method of characterizing an imaging system includes generating a plurality of point spread function ('PSF') samples using the imaging system, each PSF sample representing a response of an imaging system to a point illumination source, each PSF sample comprising one or more pixel values. The method also includes co-registering the pixel values contained in each of the plurality of PSF samples to form an oversampled point spread function ('PSF') population; resampling the oversampled PSF population to uniform spacing to form a PSF image; slicing the PSF image in an evaluation direction to form a slice of the PSF image; and evaluating the slice to determine a value of a resolution metric of the imaging system that is specific to the evaluation direction.

Systems and methods for determining a minimum resolvable distance of an imaging system

Techniques and user interfaces are disclosed for controlling lighting fixtures having spatial distribution control capabilities. In some cases, the control techniques may use a high-level controller to define target and spread inputs for a desired illumination pattern provided by a lighting fixture in a given area to be lit. In such cases, the target and spread inputs may be transmitted, or otherwise provided, to a control module, which may be included in the lighting fixture. The control module may be configured to translate the inputs into the appropriate movements and/or light source adjustments based on the specific lighting fixture being used to achieve the desired illumination pattern. In some cases, multiple lighting fixtures may be controlled by one or more control modules. In such cases, the high-level controller may be configured to provide inputs to the control module(s) to cause one or more illumination patterns using the lighting fixtures.

Control techniques for lighting fixtures having spatial distribution control capabilities

There is herein described a light output control method for a controlling a lighting device by a motion of an object near an environment, the lighting device comprising a video sensor and a light-emitting unit, the light output control method comprising steps of emitting an infrared light onto at least a part of the object and at least a part of the environment, collecting the infrared light reflected by at least the part of the object and at least the part the environment as a two-dimensional depth data sequence of the video sensor, computing the motion of the object by utilizing the two-dimensional depth data sequence, and controlling the light-emitting unit to change an attribute of the output light if the motion of the object complies with a predetermined condition.

Light control method and lighting device using the same

Techniques are disclosed for a lighting fixture having spatial distribution control capabilities. In some cases, the lighting fixture may include an array of light modules that each contain one or more light sources (e.g., LED light sources) and multiple plates that can be used to control the spatial distribution (e.g., aim and focus) of the light modules. In such multi-plate lighting fixtures, the fixture may include a fixed base plate that includes multiple sockets for pivotally retaining a ball portion of each light module. The fixture may also include an XY plate that is movably coupled to the base plate and a focus plate that is rotationally coupled to the base plate, both plates including multiple slots that overlap to constrain a control arm of each light module. The multi-plate lighting fixture may be manually controlled or automated.

Lighting fixture having spatial distribution control capabilities

Techniques are disclosed for providing a decentralized intelligent nodal lighting system. The intelligent nodal lighting system may be controlled using a wireless protocol, such as Wi-Fi, and each lighting node in the system may have its own independent Wi-Fi address and may receive, store, and interpret commands from a wirelessly connected controller. Each intelligent light node may contain a CPU and memory for storing and interpreting commands from the controller to achieve a desired light color, intensity, or quality. In some embodiments, individual lighting nodes may be dynamically added or removed from the lighting system without interrupting the system's operation.

A high intensity discharge lamp includes an arc tube with a chemical fill, capillaries extended from the arc tube, electrodes fed through the capillaries into the arc tube, and a frit seal that seals the capillaries, where the frit seal includes silica (SiO) in a range of more than 0 wt % to less than 5 wt %, alumina (AlO), and one of dysprosia (DyO) and yttrium oxide (YO). This frit seal material can withstand a higher operating temperature so that the length of the capillaries can be reduced compared to those sealed with conventional frit seal material.
