A strap member includes a first primary strap including a first notch formed along its inner edge and a second primary strap includes a second notch formed along its inner edge, the first notch and second notch defining a recess in the strap member. An intersection point positioned within the recess is at an intersection of lines being one of collinear and tangential with portions of the inner edges of the first and second primary straps. An elastic member extends between the first primary strap and the second primary strap.

Strap assembly for carrying a bag

Golf bags may include a main compartment for holding golf clubs and a flip pocket attached with the golf bag body but movable between an engaged position and a disengaged position. The bag may further include: (a) a releasable connector system for releasably holding the flip pocket at the engaged position; (b) an anti-slip element for preventing movement of the golf bag body with respect to a securing strap; and/or (c) a divider to help keep the golf clubs separated from one another when stored in the main compartment. Optionally, an outer perimeter of the divider may be symmetric about a first axis extending in a front-to-rear direction, symmetric about a second axis extending in a side-to-side direction, and/or symmetric about a third axis extending in a top-to-bottom direction (when the golf bag is oriented in an upright manner). Methods of making and using such golf bags also are described.

Golf bags having a flip pocket and/or a symmetric club separator

A modular golf bag having an external frame is provided. Poles connect a frame top capable of receiving golf clubs to a frame bottom. A pliable bag body extends between the frame top and the frame bottom such that a cavity capable of receiving golf clubs through the frame top is formed. Poles may be affixed to the pliable bag body using internally positioned pole sleeves, one or more slits in the pliable bag body, or a combination thereof. Also, storage compartments may be detachably connected between the poles.

Lightweight modular golf bag with frame

A modular golf bag having an external frame is provided. A plurality of poles connect a frame top capable of receiving golf clubs to a frame bottom. A pliable bag body internal to the plurality of poles extends between the frame top and the frame bottom such that a cavity capable of receiving golf clubs through the frame top is formed. A plurality of pole sleeves are attached to the pliable bag body. Each pole sleeve surrounds at least a portion of the length of a pole such that each pole runs through at least one pole sleeve. The plurality of pole sleeves provide structure to the pliable bag body by securing the pliable bag body to the plurality of poles in an extended position. At least one additional storage compartment may be detachably connected between at least two of the plurality of poles.

Lightweight modular golf bag having external frame

Golf bags and other shoulder borne devices have strapping systems capable of converting between a single strap configuration and a double strap configuration. The strapping system includes two main straps. In the double strap configuration, the first strap member has three ends, each of which is attached to a location on the golf bag (or other structure), and the second strap member has one free end attached to the golf bag (or other structure) and one free end attached to a central area of the first strap member. When converting to the single strap configuration, the first strap member is removed from the golf bag (or other structure) completely, and the free end of the second strap member that was attached to the first strap member is removed therefrom and engaged with the golf bag (or other structure).
