A hydrogen storage tank of a vehicle includes a housing defining an inlet/outlet opening, a control assembly extending into the housing through the opening and comprising a plurality of sensors, and a controller configured to receive signals from the plurality of sensors. The controller of the hydrogen storage tank is configured to, in response to a request for a handshake signal, initiate sending the handshake signal, and in response to the vehicle being started, initiate periodically sending data indicating parameter values received from the plurality of sensors.

Smart hydrogen storage tanks for fuel cell applications

An engine accessory drive (EAD) system for an engine includes a motor-generator (MGU) unit operably coupled to an accessory. The EAD system also includes a gearbox assembly, which includes a first gear train operably coupled to the MGU, and a second gear train operably coupled to an output of the engine. The gearbox assembly also includes a clutch selectively coupling the first gear train with a second gear train. The EAD system further includes a starter assembly, which includes a starter shaft operably coupled to the second gear train. The starter assembly also includes a starter pinion coupled to the starter shaft, and an actuator configured to selectively engage the starter pinion with a flywheel of the engine. Further yet, the EAD system includes an EAD controller configured to selectively operate the EAD system in one of a generator mode, an accessory drive mode, and a starter mode.

Engine accessory drive system

An apparatus includes an engine module, an energy module, and an interface module. The engine module is structured to interpret engine data indicative of operation of an engine. The energy module is structured to interpret energy data indicative of an amount of energy stored in an energy storage device. The energy storage device is coupled to an accessory motor and structured to selectively power the accessory motor. The interface unit module is structured to control power transmission from at least one of the engine and the accessory motor to at least one accessory via an interface unit responsive to the engine data and the energy data.

System and method for deciding when accessories are engine driven and when they are alternatively driven

A system and method are provided for controlling movement of a marine vessel. An operator controllable device outputs a signal that is representative of an operator-desired rate of position change of the vessel about or along an axis. A sensor outputs a signal that is representative of a sensed actual rate of position change of the vessel about or along the axis. A rate of position change controller outputs a rate of position change command based upon the difference between the desired rate of position change and the sensed rate of position change. A vessel coordination controller controls movement of the vessel based upon the rate of position change command.
