Systems and methods are disclosed for opting-out of targeted advertising in online advertising environments. One method includes receiving an opt-out verification request, the opt-out verification including an IP address of a user device and HTTP header fields of an HTTP request of the user device; determining a geographic area of the user device based on the IP address of the user device; accessing an opt-out database having entries of user devices that opted-out of receiving targeted advertising based on at least one HTTP header field of the HTTP request; determining whether the user device has opted-out of receiving targeted advertising based on the determined geographic area of the user device, the HTTP header fields of the HTTP quest, and the entries of user devices of the opt-out database; and transmitting a verification acknowledgement when the user device is determined to have opted-out of receiving targeted advertising.

Systems and methods for opting-out of targeted advertising in an online advertising environment

Systems and methods are disclosed for protecting consumer privacy in an online advertising environment. A request may be received from a browser for a webpage along with a unique browser identifier. The browser may be provided a first portion of the webpage that is locally available. The unique browser identifier may be provided to at least one advertising entity, wherein the advertising entity determines an advertisement based, at least in part, on the unique browser identifier. The advertisement may be received from the advertising entity, and provided to the browser as a second portion of the webpage.

The method may further include receiving a web request for electronic and then retrieving desired content based on user content preferences. Thereafter, the method may include choosing non-intrusive advertising content and generating one or more datagrams including the desired content and the non-intrusive advertising content. The requested electronic content along with generated datagrams content may then be provided for displaying.

Systems and methods for providing non-intrusive advertising content

Systems and methods are disclosed for determining segments of online users from a correlated dataset. One method includes receiving, over a network, a plurality of datasets including user-related data of a plurality of users, each dataset being transmitted from a data owner; correlating, by at least one processor, the plurality of datasets into a correlated dataset; receiving a segmentation request for determining a plurality of users that qualify for a segment, the segmentation request including a set of segment rules to apply to the correlated dataset; determining, by accessing the correlated dataset, whether each user of the plurality of users qualifies for the segment based on the segment rule; and storing an indication of the segment in the correlated dataset for each user determined to qualify for the segment.

Systems and methods are disclosed for providing non-intrusive advertising content to users. The method includes receiving user input reflecting user content preferences for receiving desired content related to specific topics in lieu of standard advertising slots while watching playable media content via a set-top box. The method may further include receiving a request for playable media content and then retrieving desired content based on user content preferences. Thereafter, the method may include choosing non-intrusive advertising content and generating datagrams that include the desired content and the non-intrusive advertising content. The datagrams may be concatenated with the playable media content to generate displayable content. The display content may then be provided for displaying.

Systems and methods for providing non-intrusive advertising content to set-top boxes

Systems and methods are disclosed for protecting user privacy in, for example, online advertising environments. The method includes receiving data related to a user in a first communication session between a host server and a client device, and generating a user profile associated with the user. The method further may include encrypting the user profile to produce encrypted user profile data and generating a decryption key for decrypting the encrypted user profile data. Thereafter, either the decryption key or a portion of the encrypted user profile data may be transmitted to the client device and then deleted from host server before ending the first communication session. The method further may include establishing a second communication session between the host server and the client device and retrieving the transmitted content. Then targeted advertising may be provided by decrypting the encrypted user profile data.

Systems and methods for protecting internet advertising data

Systems and methods are provided for displaying received publishing content on a web page along with one or more user elements by which one or more users may submit sentiment input or textual input in relation to the received publishing content or a subportion of the received publishing content. A user input may be received related to the displayed publishing content displayed on the web page, the user input including an identification of a subportion of the displayed publishing content and a sentiment input or a textual input. Any user input received may be analyzed from each of one or more of the plurality of users in relation to the subportion. A sentiment score may be computed based on analysis of the analyzed user inputs received from each of one or more of the plurality of users.
