The described methods and systems enable iterative plant design. These methods and systems may be utilized to test multiple P&ID designs and control strategies before a plant is constructed, enabling engineers to test physical layouts and control strategies for the particular unit, facilitating optimal design of the plant and control scheme for controlling the process. The described methods and system thus facilitate optimal design of optimal physical layouts and control strategies.

Methods, systems, and non-transitory, computer-readable medium are disclosed to enable a user to configure a process control system. A graphical programming user interface is described for generating coded native control components instantiated from typical and adapter components selected from a library of templates including respective control functions and associated logical expressions. In various embodiments, typical components represent a common core control process or function that is used among one or more other plant equipment devices in the process control system. In addition, various embodiments of the adapter components include one or more parameters that may be changed by a user in conjunction with the logical expressions and/or defined in terms of natural language expressions. As a result, the typical component and the adapter component are instantiated to provide a native control component that provides functionality with respect to one or more control loops within a process control system.

A water drainage system and water collector pan for use in unit masonry block walls includes a plurality of water collection pans which may be quickly placed on the top surface of the course of masonry block units over the length of a selected block wall course for collecting the water drained through the interior cavities of the upper courses and directing the water to the exterior of the wall. The collector pans includes a substantially planar collector surface, which, when installed on the block, extends from the front to the rear edges of the block, and generally vertical ridges surrounding the front, rear and side edges of the collector portion and extending to a height slightly less than the height of the bed joint between the blocks, and a weep spout extending outward from the collector surface over the portion of the block to be covered by the bed joint to provide an exit for the collected water from the interior of the wall.

Water collection pan for unit masonry wall systems and drainage system incorporating same

A drainage system includes a plurality of water collection pans which may be quickly inserted in the interior cavities of masonry block units over the length of a selected block wall course for collecting the water drained through the interior cavities of the upper courses and directing water to the exterior of the wall. In one embodiment, the collection pans (utilized for units such as bond beam, lintel, or knock-out blocks) includes a collector portion for positioning in the interior cavity of the block and extending across substantially the entire length of the block, the front and rear edges of the collector portion each including a flange extending generally horizontally to contact the top surface of the block, and a drainage channel extending outward from the collector portion past the endwall of the block into the head joint between the block and an adjacent block. Another embodiment of the collection pan designed for use with conventional C.M.U.'s includes a collector portion for positioning in the interior vertical cavity of the block, each of the front and rear edges including a flange extending generally horizontally from the edge to contact the top surface of the block, and a drainage channel extending downward from an opening in the collector portion through the interior vertical cavity toward the front wall of the block and extending below the block so that the end of the drainage channel may be positioned in the bed joint below the block.
