Embodiments include a protective helmet including a protective shell having an interior surface and an exterior surface. A padding layer is affixed to the interior surface. The padding layer includes a compliant material and a frangible material, such as glass foam. At least the frangible material is enclosed in a container. A detection circuit detects compromise of the frangible material, and outputs an indicator in the event the compromise is detected. The detection circuit may include a frangible wire configured to break in the event the frangible material is compromised. The indicator may include an LED, and/or radio-frequency signals. The radio-frequency signal may include an identifier for the helmet. The padding layer may include a plurality of pads each containing compliant material and frangible material. The plurality of pads may include one or more fasteners for releaseably affixing the pads to the interior surface of the protective shell.

Method of delivering a beverage

A cover 20 is hermetically sealed to the lip 18 of a container 12. A stirring shaft 26 extends between a bottom end 28 disposed in the container 12 and a top end 30 disposed outside of and above the cover 20. The container 12 includes a shaft support 32 for supporting and radially centering the bottom end 28 of the stirring shaft 26. A sanitary seal 34 hermetically seals the cover 20 about the stirring shaft 26. A plurality of mixing blades 38 extending radially from the shaft 26 in the container 12. The top end 30 of the shaft 26 includes a driving connection or coupling for receiving a rotating device for rotating the stirring shaft 26 and the mixing blades 38 for mixing the contents of the container 12. The bottom 14 of the container 12 includes an annular leg 40 for supporting the bottom 14 above the central portion 24 of a cover 20 and over the top end 30 of a stirring shaft 26 of a like container 12 assembly. To facilitate the stacking, the cover 20 includes a circular ridge 42 for receiving and centering the leg 40 of a like container 12 assembly. The container 12 with frozen contents is dispensed from a machine and engaged by a rotates device to rotate the blades 38 to mix the contents, such as a milkshake.

Container for delivering a beverage to be mixed

The monitoring assembly (10) monitors the location of mobile objects (12), i.e., personnel, within a structure (18). The object (12) carries a transponder (14) which periodically transmits status signals and receives command signals. Transceivers (16) are fixed at locations about the structure (18) for receiving the status signal producing the location signals, and transmitting commands to the transponders. The transmissions and reception occur during prescribed time windows. A central controller (20) is connected to each transceiver (16) and monitors the location of transponders (14) and communication therethrough. The transponders (14) have audio capability of producing audio messages directly to the person thereof, especially during emergency conditions for assistance. The controller (20) transmits synchronizing signals to the transceivers (16), which in turn synchronize themselves and transmit the synchronizing signal to the transponders (14) for synchronizing.

Supervised personnel monitoring system

The monitoring assembly (10) monitors the location of mobile objects (12), i.e., personnel, within a structure (18). A video game communicator (100) is electrically connected between the ports (A, B) of a local video game (12) and one set of player controls (20) of the local video game (12). The video game communicator (100) receives command signals from the player controls (20) and sends them to the local video game (12). The video game communicator (100) also converts the command signals into communication signals to be sent over telephone lines to be received by another video game communicator (100) connected to a remote video game (30). A transit time circuit (126) delays all command signals coming from the player controls (20) to the local video game (12) an amount of time it determines to be the time needed for the command signals to be sent to the remote video game (30). The video game communicator (100) receives communication signals over the telephone lines (110) and converts these signals into command signals representing the command signals of the remotely located competitor. A voice over data circuit (134) allows both communications signals and voice signals to be sent over the telephone lines at the same time. An operator circuit (140) allows either player to send operation signals, i.e., pause, start, stop, to each video game regardless of location of the player.

Apparatus and method for electrically connecting remotely located video

An RF oscillator induces eddy currents to be measured in an object. An eddy current probe senses alterations, such as teeth on a disc, for example, in the object which are represented as eddy current signals sensed by an eddy current probe. The present invention separates alteration current signals from offset currents in the eddy current signal to aid in discriminating levels in the alteration current signals. The alteration currents are separated from the offset currents by AC coupling with a high pass filter or separated by a microprocessor as part of a data processing detection routine.

Eddy current detector for detecting an object with offset compensation

An electronic security system having a locked and at least one unlocked state and comprising at least one electronic access controller and at least one electronic key. The electronic security system employs a predetermined, distinctive, first code stored in memories in each access controller and key, and each electronic key stores a predetermined second code consisting of a number part and an associated time delay part.
