An information handling system projector tracks lamp usage to generate a lamp order form for order of a replacement lamp when lamp usage is a predetermined usage. The lamp order form is automatically generated and displayed to include lamp usage and projector identification information so that a user need not manually input that information into an order form. A network module of the projector supports queries for lamp usage from a lamp management module running on an information handling system. A projector processor interfaced with the network module reads the lamp usage and projector identification information from firmware of the projector and provides the lamp usage and projector identification information to the lamp management module for automatic generation of the lamp order form display.

System and method for automated projector lamp management

A system and method for determining power supply requirements for a plurality of servers in an information network that includes a system management bus coupled to provide information on power being utilized by the servers during operation. The information from the system management bus is provided to program instructions that provide power usage values indicative of the power being utilized by the servers, determine the maximum value of the power usage values, and determine power supply requirements based on the maximum power usage. The power supply requirements include operating power and/or redundant power requirements. A warning signal is generated if adequate power is not available to the servers.

A computer system for estimating resource usage of components in a particular system configuration is disclosed. The computer system includes a processor and a computer readable medium. System requirements, each of which describes an amount of an associated resource required by a particular system configuration, are stored within the computer readable medium. The processor receives component and configuration selections, retrieves an appropriate system requirement from the computer readable medium, and outputs that system requirement.

Scalable environmental data calculation method customized by system configuration

The present disclosure provides a cable management solution for rack mounted computing components. In one embodiment, a backplate is preferably fixedly coupled to a rack structure. One face of the backplate is preferably operable to maintain connection with the preferred operating cables, such as, I/O devices, network, etc., which would typically couple directly to the computing component. On an opposite face of the backplate, is at least one plug operable to couple the various cable connections maintained by the backplate to at least one jack on the computing component engaged therewith. A series of alignment posts and alignment slots enable a computing component to be easily slid into and out of the rack as well as simplify engagement with and disengagement from the plug or plugs on the backplate.
