Various embodiments disclosed relate to an alloy. The alloy includes elemental silver. The alloy further includes a metal oxide phase in the elemental silver. The metal oxide phase includes a wetting agent layer that coats the metal oxide phase.

Silver metal oxide alloy and method of making

An operating head () for a safety switch () includes a key-operated cam mechanism () and a plunger () contacting the cam mechanism () and extending from the cam mechanism (). In the safety switch (), the plunger () is displaceable between first and second positions responsive to the cam mechanism (). The safety switch () further includes at least one securing member () interacting with the plunger () and displaceable between a locked and a released position. When the securing member () is in the released position, movement of the plunger () is allowed. When the plunger () is in the second position, the securing member () is displaced from the released position to the locked position, which secures the plunger () in the second position.

Safety switch

A key alignment system for safety interlock switches uses alignment holes, and alignment pins to compensate for misalignment between a body assembly and a key assembly. The misalignment is often due to normal wear and tear or outright abuse of a gate or other movable member that should be safely interlocked. The key is fixed to a floating plate connected to a mounting plate by a suspension. The alignment pins and holes on or in a fixed alignment assembly and the floating plate can move the floating plate into a position such that the key enters the key hole. Some embodiments incorporate the fixed alignment assembly into the body assembly. The normal function of a keyed safety interlock wherein the key can be caught and held or released is preserved and enhanced by compensating for misalignment.

An elevator door interlock incorporates cast parts thereby drastically reducing the number of parts required for assembly. Other elements are also incorporated to further reduce complexity in manufacturing, servicing, and configuration.

A voltage regulator operable as a voltage follower while a fusible link is closed and in a regulated voltage mode when the fusible link becomes open. The voltage regulator can be formed on monolithic semiconductor chips. Patterned thin films including aluminum and nickel-iron, and aluminum and polycrystalline silicon, comprise the fusible link. With the fusible link closed, the voltage regulator output is an analog of positive polarity variable voltage levels at the regulator input. Systems powered by the voltage regulator are allowed to be programmed until system programming requiring variable voltage levels is complete. Afterwards, a negative polarity voltage is applied to the regulator input causing a large current to pass through the fusible link once the system programming is completed. Current thereby causes the fusible link to become opened and enables the voltage regulator to begin operating at a regulated voltage in response to positive voltage input.

Sensor systems and methods are disclosed, including first and second sensing elements element co-located on a leadframe structure with respect to a particular target. In general, target-specific sensing applications can be determined by varying the distance between the first and second sensing elements on the leadframe structure with respect to a common datum point thereof in order to provide speed and direction detection data from the first and second sensing elements with respect to the particular target.

Quadrature sensor systems and methods

A cable actuated emergency stop system is disclosed, which includes a housing structure within which a single shaft assembly can be maintained for engaging a cable and a single shaft assembly that can be attached to the cable, wherein the single shaft assembly comprises only one shaft that is slideably disposed within the housing structure and movable relative to the housing structure a long a single path in a direction parallel to an axial centerline of the shaft in response to a force exerted by the cable attached to at least one end of the shaft. The system is configured in the context of a single directional cable actuated emergency stop device which includes one operating shaft exiting the housing structure.

Single directional cable actuated emergency stop device

A dual directional cable actuated emergency stop device has two shaft assemblies attachable to two respective cables spanning along an industrial and/or manufacturing operation. The first shaft assembly is slideably disposed within a housing structure and movable relative to said housing structure along a first path in a direction parallel to an axial centerline of said shaft in response to a force exerted by a cable attached to an end of said first shaft. The second shaft assembly is slideably disposed within said housing structure and movable relative to said housing structure along a second path in a direction parallel to an axial centerline of said shaft and opposite movement of said first shaft, in response to a force exerted by a cable attached to an end of said second shaft. A switch operator movable along a second path between a first position and a second position is responsive to movement of said first or second shaft assemblies and is also responsive to a mechanism for locking the switch operator in a second position after said switch operator moves into a second position. At least one electrical switch associated with the device can be actuated when the switch operator is in said second position and deactuated when said switch operator is in said first position. Windows formed on the device housing cover allow a user to monitor tension of first or second cables attached to respective first and second shaft assemblies, based on the position of a cam associated with each shaft assembly.

Dual directional cable actuated emergency stop device

An electrical contact assembly is disclosed comprising a bracket having at least first and second cavities located on opposite ends of the bracket and an opening extending through the bracket between the first and second cavities. A retention member is arranged to be mounted within the bracket opening with a first portion of the retention member extending outward from the first cavity and a second portion of the retention member extending outward from the second cavity. Each first and second portion terminates in a head end. First and second helix-shaped electrical contacts are positioned about a respective retention member first and second portion and are compressively retained between a respective and associated head end and bracket cavity.

Helical coil switch contact assembly

A configurable switch having a base and interchangeable stationary contacts positioned in adjustable locations with respect to the base. A plunger is slidably mounted with respect to the base so that the plunger moves between a first position and a second position. One or more moveable contacts are mounted in a normally open position or a normally closed position. In the first position or the second position, the moveable contacts make contact and/or break contact with the stationary contacts depending upon the respective arrangements of the stationary contacts and the moveable contacts. Thus the configuration of a four-circuit switch can be altered with a minimum of different components to be, for example, a four normally closed circuit configuration, three normally closed and one normally open circuit configuration, two normally closed and two normally open circuit configuration, etc., with a minimum of expense or retooling.

Configurable switch

An operating head assembly for a key operated safety switch contains within its housing two inwardly biased locking plates surrounding and locking an operating cam. A key with beveled faces forces the locking plates outward, freeing the cam to rotate. A cross bar on the key rotates the cam to the operating position. The safety switch is thus not easily defeated by simple devices.

Key operated safety interlock switch

A switch is provided with the ability to diagnose its own operation and provide signals that represent the actuation of the switch and various diagnostic outputs that indicate fault conditions or potential fault conditions with regard to either the switch or related machinery. A magnetically sensitive component, such as a Hall element, is used to provide an analog output signal that is representative of the position of an actuator to which a magnet structure is rigidly attached. As the actuator moves in response to an external force, the magnet structure moves with respect to a stationary magnetically sensitive component. The analog output from the magnetically sensitive component can be used to determine the position of the switch. Based on this information, a microprocessor provides a binary output signal indicating whether the switch is actuated or deactuated. In addition, the movement of the actuator can be compared to various thresholds to determine the operate point, the overtravel point, the total travel and the velocity of the switch plunger.
