A power electronics inverter includes a housing which forms a cold plate with coolant passages. The housing encloses an insulated gate bipolar transistor (IGBT), and a DC Link capacitor. The capacitor comprises a bus-bar which exits from a bottom side of the capacitor, and the bus-bar is positioned adjacent to the cold plate. The cold plate forms a cooling passage which underlies the IGBT and the capacitor bus-bar. Thermally conductive gap pads are located between the capacitor bus-bar and the cold plate.

An electrical assembly comprises a substrate having a dielectric layer and one or more electrically conductive traces overlying the dielectric layer. An electrical component is mounted on a first side of the substrate. The electrical component is capable of generating heat. A plurality of conductive through holes in the substrate are located around a perimeter of the electrical component. The conductive through holes are connected to a conductive trace for heat dissipation. A cooling cavity has bores that face a second side of the substrate opposite the first side. A plurality of respective compliant pins are inserted into corresponding conductive through holes and the bores, wherein a generally exposed portion of the compliant pin is exposed to air or a coolant liquid within the cooling cavity.

A lower enclosure has a first recess. A first annular retainer is adapted for engaging a lower portion of a capacitor and the first recess. The first annular retainer has a plurality of tabs that extend radially outward from an outer diameter surface of the first annular retainer. Each of the tabs has a sloped surface or a peaked surface for compression of the first annular retainer against the capacitor. An upper enclosure has a plurality of second recesses. A second annular retainer is adapted for engaging an upper portion of the capacitor and the second recesses. The second annular retainer has a plurality of protrusions that extend upward from the second annular retainer. Each of the protrusions has a slit for receiving a wedge, such that if the protrusions engage the wedge the second annular retainer is compressed against the capacitor.

Capacitor assembly

A circuit board arrangement includes a first printed circuit board having a first edge connector and a second printed circuit board having a second edge connector. The first edge connector includes a plurality of fingers, with each finger having at least one first conductor pad. The second edge connector includes a plurality of openings positioned generally in line with each other and a plurality of second conductor pads. Each opening has a corresponding finger positioned therein. Each second conductor pad is positioned adjacent a corresponding opening and corresponding first conductor pad.

Circuit board arrangement and method of mounting circuit boards in a work machine

A circuit board arrangement includes a first printed circuit board having a first edge connector, and a second printed circuit board having a second edge connector and a plurality of holes positioned in relation to the second edge connector. A pair of circuit board carriers mount the first printed circuit board generally perpendicular to the second printed circuit board. Each circuit board carrier is positioned at an opposite lateral edge of the first printed circuit board. Each circuit board carrier includes a flat base for abutting the second circuit board, and a pair of wings on laterally opposite sides of the base. Each wing includes a snap-in feature for snap engagement with a corresponding hole in the second circuit board. At least one slot guide retains a corresponding lateral edge of the first printed circuit board. A retainer at an end generally opposite the base retains a distal edge of the first printed circuit board.
