When the content to be shared is matched to reference content in the database, sharing may be simply rejected, or rights associated with the reference content may be inspected to facilitate determining authorization.

The simulating allows the server to recreate, server-side, the content received by the client. The multi-bit-rate encoded media content is stored to a first data storage device. An amount of disk space available on a second data storage device is determined and an encoding bit rate is selected for at least one segment that is to be transferred to a second data storage device. The encoded bit rate is based on the amount of storage space available on the second storage device. A quality can be chosen for transcoding an encoded media content to form a transcoded media content, wherein the quality is based on the at least one segment to transfer and the amount of storage space available on the second data storage space.

An automated object tracking system for tracking a colored object through a series of frames of data. The system has a first image source device to provide a data array of pixels of a digital image. A second image source device provides a binary image of the data array. The system utilizes an analysis system to create a first histogram for columns of the binary image and a second histogram for rows of the binary image. Each histogram is thresholded, and after being thresholding, is utilized to estimate the center of a tracked object in the binary image.

Mechanism for tracking colored objects in a video sequence

Digital video (DV) formatted image streams may be converted into an intermediate format having a lower resolution than the original image streams. A user may then edit the intermediate formatted image streams to generate a sequence of edit commands. The edit commands may then be processed to generate an output image stream based on the original image streams. The output image stream may be in any desired format, including DV format. The sequence of edit commands may also be processed to generate a preview image stream in the intermediate format.
