A sensor for ultrasonically measuring a portion of a structure having a temperature significantly above room-temperature, the sensor comprising: a high-temperature portion for intimate contact with the structure, the high-temperature portion comprising at least: at least one transducer for converting a first signal to an ultrasonic transmit signal, and for converting an ultrasonic reflected signal to a second signal; a low-temperature portion comprising at least: at least one digital sensor interface (DSI) to which the transducer is electrically connected, the DSI being configured to transmit the first electrical signal and receive the second electrical signal, and to generate an A-scan signal based on the first and second electrical signals; a wireless interface for transmitting a digital signal based directly or indirectly on at least said A-scan signal; and a battery for powering the DSI and the wireless interface; and an elongated member containing one or more electrical conductors for conducting the first and second signals between the transducer and the DSI, the elongated member being configured to offset the low-temperature portion a sufficient distance away from the high-temperature portion such that the low-temperature portion is subjected to significantly less heat from the structure compared to the high-temperature portion.

High-temperature ultrasonic sensor

A method of releasably adhering an ultrasonic sensor to a structure, the structure having an operating temperature range, the method comprising: applying a coupling agent between the structure and the sensor at an installation temperature, the coupling agent having a glass transition temperature (Tg) below the operating temperature range and below the installation temperature, the coupling agent being in a viscous/viscoelastic state over the operating temperature range; and urging the sensor against the structure with the coupling agent therebetween such that the sensor adheres to the structure.

Ultrasound coupling material and method of use

A sensor for ultrasonically measuring a portion of a structure, the sensor comprising: a transducer for converting an analog transmit signal to an ultrasonic transmit signal, and for converting an ultrasonic reflected signal to an analog reflected signal; a housing integrated with the transducer and containing at least: a processor; a wireless data transmitter for transmitting wirelessly a data signal from the processor; a transmit and receive circuit for transmitting an analog transmit signal to the transducer in response to a transmit trigger from the processor, and for receiving an analog reflected signal from the transducer; an A/D converter for digitizing only a portion of the analog reflected signal in response to a sample trigger from the processor; a battery to supply power to the processor, the wireless data transmitter, the transmit and receive circuit, and the A/D converter; memory operatively connected to the processor and configured to instruct the processor to execute the following steps: repeatedly triggering the transmit and receive circuit and the A/D converter to obtain a digitized composite signal through time-equivalent sampling; processing the digitized composite reflected signal to generate an A-scan signal; and wirelessly transmitting the data signal based on the A-scan signal for transmission to a discrete collection device.

Low-power wireless device for asset-integrity monitoring

The present disclosure generally provides an apparatus and method of forming a pressure equalizing audio speaker that can be easily manufactured and provides a high quality audio output. One or more of the embodiments of the disclosure provided herein include a sealed enclosure that has at least one liquid impermeable and gas permeable region that allows the flow of a gas between an interior region and an exterior region, while preventing or substantially inhibiting the movement of a liquid from the exterior region into the internal region. In general, the liquid impermeable and gas permeable regions are configured to allow slowly changing gas pressures registered between the internal region and exterior region to be relieved, while allowing rapidly changing gas pressures generated by the diaphragm at audible frequencies to function at a desired level during use.

Content streaming system

Embodiments of the disclosure provided herein are configured to desirably distribute and thus withstand forces that are applied to an audio device assembly during regular use. The configurations discussed herein can be used to prevent the various device related components from becoming damaged during use. The application of these forces can cause immediate failure of the electrical connections in extreme cases, or more typically cause eventual failure of the electrical connections and device due to repetitive application of the applied force. Therefore, it is desirable to minimize the stress applied to the various electrical connection points during use, such as the electrical connection points.

Embodiments of the disclosure may include a method and apparatus for improving the efficiency and extending the operation time between recharges or replacement batteries of a portable audio delivery system. The audio delivery system may include a processor, an audio processing device, a speaker, and a rechargeable power source. The audio delivery system is generally configured to generate and/or receive an audio input signal and efficiently deliver an amplified, high quality audio output signal to a user. In some embodiments of the disclosure, the audio processing device of the audio delivery system may include a switch mode power supply (SMPS), a signal delay element, an envelope detector, and a switching signal amplifier.

Embodiments disclosed herein generally relate to method or apparatus that can automatically control the delivery of an audio output to a user. Method and apparatus for delivering audio content to a user

Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a headphone or speaker assembly that contains two or more audio components that are configured to be magnetically coupled together by use of a complementary magnetic pole configuration in the headphone or speaker assembly to provide one or more useful functions. These useful functions may include elements that are able to sense that the two or more audio components are in contact with each other, or are at least proximate to each other, so that their audio playback capability can be suspended while they are in this unused state. Since the two or more audio components can be brought into contact with each other and be retained in this state by use of a magnetic force created between one or more magnetic components in each of the audio components, this design can provide a useful mechanism that will allow the headphone assembly to be easily retained on the user.

Embodiments disclosed herein generally relate to electronics powered by thermal energy. More particularly, embodiments of the present disclosure relate to wireless headphones that are powered by thermoelectric generators. One embodiment provides a wireless headphone having a wireless audio device capable of generating an acoustic output from signals received through a wireless communication link, and a thermoelectric generator assembly configured to provide electrical power to the wireless audio device.

Embodiments of the disclosure may provide a low cost audio system including a dock and a dongle. The dock may be passive and may include a plurality of inputs and a plurality of outputs. The outputs of the plurality of outputs may be connected to a single output port, which may be configured to be communicatively coupled with the dongle. A system and method for interjecting ambient background sounds into a set of headphones is provided. The system monitors an ambient sound environment and compares the ambient sound environment to a preset set of sound characteristics (e.g., frequency signatures, amplitudes and durations) in order to detect important or critical background sounds (e.g., alarm, horn, directed vocal communications, crying baby, doorbell, telephone, etc.). When a critical background sound is detected, the system interjects either a notification signal or a portion of the ambient background into the audio stream, thus alerting a user of a potentially important sound or event occurring within their immediate vicinity.
